the first time I heard "Ain't Comin' Back" on a mix CD, I thought it was an early Pandoras tune.

doesn't anyone else carry this?

i should have ordered the ones on ebay. looks like they're sold out and my order from hmv is on permanent back order. don't think its getting repressed so 99% of these are stuck in the UK. luckily i got one from the band but i had ordered more for my friends.
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 2:52 pm

Are these the same versions from the LP? I dont understand the point of this release.
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 3:35 pm

yea they're the same version. i think they got remastered for vinyl though cus they sound slightly different.

i'm not sure exactly what the point of the 7" was but the release was timed with their time in the UK and since it actually came out in the UK they don't have to pay import prices like the do on black lips cds/lps. (amazon.co.uk sells the new vice cd for 16.99 or $33.50!!!)

another on ebay, but it looks like someone wrote on it?!?

well, it says "fully signed by the band" and that's what the writing is -- that's a little cooler than some random person scribbling on it
Posted: Mar 30, 2007 1:35 pm

i was joking.

If anyone wants one of these let me know and I'll see if I can arrange for you not to have to pay $14 for 2 songs that you probably already have.

hey guy,

Hey! Mails me! 3 sent to my house!

I microwaved some potstickers on my Black Lips collector's plate last night. Gorn plate has ring bologna stains on it.

i'd love to get one of these too, if possible
Posted: Apr 16, 2007 3:54 pm

Looks like I'm ordering 3 so far. Any more takers, just email me. This section still confuses me. 4 sections used to be enough to avoid doing any work.

Posted: Apr 17, 2007 10:00 am

Done!

I just heard from Chris Beck that the record seems to be permanently on back order. A US place on Amazon.co.uk seems to have some.
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 2:58 pm

the record seems to be permanently on back order.

yea that's what i thought. i ordered it from HMV over 5 weeks ago and ive been getting weekly updates that all say the same thing: "this item is out of stock. we hope to be getting more from out warehouse soon" but i'm not holding my breath. this thing is def. sold out / permanent back order.
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 3:06 pm

This is that US place on amazon.co.uk. I just don't know if "in stock" can be trusted.

Chris Beck might be able to get more from a secret shop in the north of England. Not sure if you can trust him though.
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 4:06 pm

I think I was just able to get less than a handful of reasonably priced copies here in the US. If my order is fulfilled I'll have a couple spares for sale at the NYC punk record fair on May 12th for about the same cost as ones airmailed from the UK (assuming they can still be found in the UK.)

Is that Action Records? That was the only place I could think of at my old university town of Preston, and it's not on their site. Tossers.
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 6:12 pm

Yeah, that's them. I guess Chris Beck won't be getting any more.
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 7:22 pm

Tosser.

But are fags talking about the Vice 001 (Not a Problem) one or the other one that DustyMedical linked to (Cold Hands?)?

Thankyouverymuch
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 7:39 pm

they're talking vice 001. the others come out in june

I ordered it here and at the time the page said "one copy in stock". It arrived today and the site still says "one copy in stock".
Maybe one of you might wanna try it over there. They didn't even charge me for the shipping to the Netherlands!
Posted: Apr 17, 2007 8:16 pm

Or "Buy It Now" on ebay?

fully-signed 7" - $9.93

regular 7" - $5.95
Posted: Apr 18, 2007 2:59 pm

somehow the record store across the street from my house got a handful of the Not A Problem 7"... very strange considering this is the same store that couldn't locate the Hunches on In the Red when a buddy of mine tried to order it through the store..

the 7"s are long gone, by now though. so don't ask me to buy you one!!!
Posted: Apr 18, 2007 4:09 pm

Hey Kevin!

Will you buy me one?

Does anyone want Chris Beck to pick some up from the band next week? They must have some. Just say "yeah" if you do.
Posted: Apr 19, 2007 7:38 pm

they don't have any
Posted: Apr 20, 2007 8:59 pm

My order was just confirmed. I will have 2 for sale at the 5/12 NYC record fair.

just found out my travel job has been pushed back to the week of the underground record fair. i'm bummed bigtime. no chance you'll have one leftover, or can hold one, right?

no idea what i'm gonna miss out on at the fair. last year was great!
Posted: Apr 24, 2007 1:52 am

Got my copies today. I thought these were going to be the live versions from the CD, but they're studio versions recorded by John Reis. This might support the idea that the live record wasn't so live after all.

Duh !!

Couldn't find copies of this in the places in went to in Central London last weekend, and HMV online are telling me it's out of stock. No dice, folks!

fuck me, just ordered both cold hands 7" and it came to $14 shipped to US. didn't know the exchange rate was THAT bad. 1 dollar = .48 GBP. those'll be the last things I get from the UK for a long time.
Posted: Jun 11, 2007 12:18 am

I pre-ordered both singles via the above link, but I got this message on the 8th of June:

"Just a quick e-mail to say sorry for keeping you waiting for your recent order, no 12834007 from http://www.hmv.co.uk for the following items:

BLACK LIPS COLD HANDS X2

We're taking delivery of new stock from our suppliers all the time and hope to be receiving your items very shortly. A further delay may occur if the item is out of stock at the suppliers, but we will do our best to get the item to our warehouse. As soon as we do, we'll despatch them to you and let you know by e-mail when they're on their way."

I guess I missed the boat on this one....

Me too Jasper. But I'm afraid to order elsewhere since I gave them allmy info to charge me.
Posted: Jun 11, 2007 9:16 pm

Just ordered them at Norman Records (found them thru musicstack.com) and I got an email half an hour later that they'll ship tomorrow. Norman is the man, but it were his last copies. I don't think HMV will get extra copies.
Posted: Jun 11, 2007 9:18 pm

Btw, you can cancel your order at HMV at anytime, but I didn't do that (yet).
Posted: Jun 11, 2007 11:20 pm

they were only 1.99 each on ebay.

Posted: Jun 27, 2007 11:59 pm

damn, i want one pretty bad. got any extra leads?

here's how i got two of the three i got:
google search black lips yacht fader or something like that. you'll find that several blogs are having varied competitions to win the 7". so i guess fader gave a small amount to bloggers and are making them give them away for some free press. some of the competitions are pretty weird so i didn't even bother. some of them were simple, like be the 25th emailer. i just entered all the ones i could find and ended up getting two. several of the ones i saw had end dates of july 1st so you still got time.

good luck.
Posted: Jun 29, 2007 1:35 am

grrrrrrrr!

lame.
Posted: Jul 5, 2007 2:46 pm

I'll sell mine for $500 or nearest offer.
Posted: Jul 5, 2007 5:59 pm

Is it a new recording of "Wild Man", or is it the same one that's on the Live at the Jam Club 7"?....
Posted: Jul 6, 2007 1:29 pm

Don't know yet. I'll find out when my "winning package" arrives. I'm a winner.
Posted: Jul 6, 2007 3:28 pm

i got mine the other day....i havent gone back and listened to the live at the jam club 7" to compare but from what i remember i think its a different version.
Posted: Jul 11, 2007 6:44 am

same version or not. how the fuck am i gonna get this thing!?!?!?!!?1
Posted: Jul 11, 2007 4:16 pm

so i guess fader gave a small amount to bloggers and are making them give them away for some free press.

they actually didnt 'give' them to the bloggers. they just let them do the competition and then the bloggers have to give the winners name/address to fader and fader will ship them. i still havent' gotten the other two i won yet, just the one i got through pullin other strings...

same version or not. how the fuck am i gonna get this thing!?!?!?!!?1

since they haven't shipped yet, i wouldn't give up on seeing a few on ebay..
