I guess Coney Sauce is supposed to be pretty sweet. Made it up first without the sugar but it didn't taste too good. That recipe called for 10 lbs. of meat so I was cutting everything down to make a 1 lb. dish, so it was pretty much flavor to taste. Ended up adding most of the sugar and double the cumin and chili powder.
It tasted a lot better after spicing it up but was still a little funky, but, combined with the flavor of the cheese and the Hebrew National jumbos it was delicious! Can't wait to try again.
