I make this everytime some in the house has a cold. Don't skimp on the fresh ginger, it totally makes it. I also usually quadruple the amount of broth and add fresh garlic when I saute the ginger:

On this one I did not use ground beef but instead used chunks of leftover pot roast.

Ate a ton of soup this winter.

These are great base recipes for ideas. I always change/add seasonings, veggies and amount of broth, etc.
