Goner Message Board / Food & Drink / So I bought a deep fryer

Got it today and so far we've fried taquitos, french fries, Cole's cheesesticks, and Cole's Cinnamonsticks (my favorite so far).

Besides the obvious onion rings and Twinkies, what else should we try?

I almost bought an electric smoker today but I pussed out.

Can you get cheese curds in western michigan? if so, you know what to do.

if not, get a tube of pillsbury biscuits (regular, not grands). separate the biscuits. you can fry them as-is, or you can stuff them. recommended fillings; cheese, cured meats, cheese and cured meats.

Take left over mac and cheese, cut into bite size, bread and fry. Ridculously delicious!

I can't wait to try some more stuff. First, the house has to air-out. It smells like a fast food restaurant in here.

Cheddar cheese!
I used to work at this place where they'd cut inch square chunks of cheddar, then beer batter them and fry. I still have dreams of those things. The Mid South Fair used to have pronto pups, but with cheddar instead of the dog. Now all the friend cheese you get is that wimpy mozzarella.

beer battered zucchini so you can get your veggies! And do some tempura too.

I forgot one of my other favorites...
Take leftover mashed potatoes, add Bisquick, minced onion or onion powder and egg til it's a soft, firm dough - not sticky. Fry em up!

So far we've fried french toast sticks, hash browns(the ones like they serve at McDonald's), and cheese filled bread sticks. I bought some mini-loaves to fry like they do at Jack's Rib Shack, some panko if we decide to do a light breading and some hush puppy mix.

I can't wait to do pickles, make my own doughnuts, make funnel cakes and who knows what all else. I won't have to leave the house!

Freeze ranch dressing in an ice cube tray. Roll in batter, coat in Panko bread crumbs, deep fry. Wait until closing time at your local bar and sell for $2 a cube. Deep fried Ranch.
