I started a sweet new job a month ago. Since my hire, we've had two birthday parties, one going-away party, and three BLT parties. At the last BLT party (we have a veggie garden on grounds), we also made fried green tomatoes.

Any suggestions on alternate work-related tomato partying? I suggested assorted quiches, and other people suggested salsa or spaghetti w/ real sauce, but all of those require a modicum of effort. Ideas?

If they're good and ripe maters, and simple is what you want, there's nothing more simple than slicing 'em up and adding s&p. But that doesn't sound like a party. Tomatoes and vodka sounds a little more ike a party. You could blend em up and make your own Marys.

Or add a few steps to the sliced tomatoes and make tomato cheese toast. mmmm. tomato soup? I never that from scratch- except gazpacho.

Oh! What's that basil/mozarella/tomato salad called? That's pretty simple. Or a balsalmic tomato salad- tomatoes, thin sliced onions, basil, balsalmic vinegar, olive oil stuff like that.

I haven't been there long enough to determine who's "cool" or not, as far as the vodka goes.
