i am dieing to make short ribs. i went online to foodnetwork.com and didn't fall in love with any recipe. maybe coz i have no clue to what i'm doin. anyone have any good recipes or advice or info?

Korean style bbq is great for short ribs. Marinate in soy, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, chili sauce, cilantro, black pepper and grill over a med fire

Thats made with leg shanks, not ribs. But, I bet ribs would work if you parboiled them first.

anytime i've ever had them somebody just threw a bunch in a crock pot with a gallon of shitty BBQ sauce and let them go.

see! thats what i want. crockpot/throw in a pot style. hmmm. ok, i'm lookin up osso bucco. oxtail soup seems exciting too.

wait, are we talking about beef short ribs or pork? I was thinking braised beef short ribs would be good, hence the osso bucco rec.

hmmm...i was sayin beef really. like a beef short ribs and potatoes kinda thing. fiery just posted somethin similar that sounds yummy so yum. i still want osso bucco and oxtails. hmph.

i maked some poke country ribs in a crock pot the other day. lin skinner kept choking on his. it tasted good though

finally got my short ribs fix last night. so good. it was sittin in stout all day. i think i need to get with it and make that oxtails soup. i keep puttin it off...but yum.

Bought a crockpot last weekend.
Right now it's got some thick sliced onions, potatoes, and carrots going, along with some beef short ribs that I seared in a hot pan.
Windows are open, music is playing, dinner is cooking.

my cousin is korean and made this shit, cross cut beef ribs, it was MEAT CANDY. Unbelievebly delicious, almost scary good.

Old but good recipe:

PRUNE TZIMMES

3-4 lb. short ribs
4 tbsp. brown sugar
1 lb. bag pitted prunes
2-3 lb. white potatoes

Cook short ribs in large pot and skim fat. Add prunes, brown sugar and potatoes, cut into large pieces. Cover all ingredients in pot with water and cook 1 1/2 hours. Place in casserole and bake 2-3 hours, uncovered at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours. This is best when prepared the day before.
