...with his hipping us all to the website of the Popeye's founder. This is the type from a new restaurant here called "Spice". I challenge others to find similar crap from restaurants in their own hometowns!

Welcome to Spice Restaurant & Lounge
the ingredient for every occasion!

Spice has an intimate, fun, exciting dining venue for the whole party with the right element for just about every person, and every special event. Our Restaurant & Lounge is located in the heart of Portland near the Rose Garden and Convention Center. SPICE has a relaxed atmosphere and services Northwest Cuisine that will entice you to stay and find out more about this Special Ingredient called "SPICE". For instance, let's take a stroll through Spice: as you enter through the water bubblers you will find our Dining Room is perfect for Lunch or Dinner and our Lounge is great for an evening of dancing with our DJ & Live music on the weekends. But you may want to relax on our leather couch or recliner, with a Martini in the Living Room, perfect for friends, or maybe the Wine Cellar for a private dinner or wine tasting event. You will pass through the Patio, Margarita in hand while the sounds of the waterfall roll off the rocks next to the newest Water Bar in Portland. Later you might want to adjourn to the Cuban Room to enjoy a cigar with your friends. Spice also has a Sky Room that can accommodate any Special Event small or large so call for your reservation.

SPICE Restaurant & Lounge ... like no other in the NW!

haha @ the ditka restaurant. the memphis tigers' coach calipari has his own "cal's championship steakhouse" in the doubletree hotel here in memphis. it's total ass too. they don't have a website though, otherwise i'd post it up. it's pretty funny. i was wondering what would happen to it if he ended up taking a coaching job somewhere else.

OH lawsy. We ran into this disaster when we were walking the streets of Downtown Charleston. You can imagine the employees standing out front, menus in hand, shucking for customers. Very Bourbon Street...but worse in a way.

Did you check out Capi's Italian Kitchen??????

yo fierydrunk-- went to SWEET FIRE & ICE this weekend! actually, just went to the "martini lounge" or whatever it is.

Completely stupifying. Glass encased waterfall on one side. Oxygen bar on other side. in the middle: a fountain with fire coming out of it. you can sit around the firefall and set your drinks on the edge of it. the cocktail menu is about 30 fruity ass cocktails. The bar.. oh, the bar. everything is backlit. somehow everything on the bar is FROZEN. actually there is like a foot of unfrozen stone on which to place drinks, but behind that it is solid ice. and the beer taps are also encased in ice. anyway, it's amazing. just thought you'd want to know.

yo fierydrunk-- went to SWEET FIRE & ICE this weekend! actually, just went to the "martini lounge" or whatever it is.

I am totally jealous. Maybe Ryan and I will make a NOLA jaunt on the way down to FLA and we can meet up there???

Do the bartenders wear gloves?

I know I am digging up an ancient thread, and Sweet Fire & Ice is no longer with us (R.I.P.), but I just found this on the internet.. the "Manifesto" that was written on the back of the SF&I menus. Total brilliance.

Sweet Fire & Ice is a spectacular presentation. From the unique
traditional style of the building immediately attracting your
attention, to the beautiful yellow and cream color on the exterior,
the tall 25' twisted spiral columns, the classy initials representing
the name Sweet Fire & Ice as you drive through the fire torches, to
the fire and water fountain, all tell you immediately that you are at
an upscale restaurant. But don't let what you see fool you. The decor
represents casual upscale dining but you know you can be comfortable
in casual attire. The only thing not upscale are the prices. We are
totally committed to great value and reasonable pricing. Sweet Fire &
Ice awakens every one of your senses as you drive up the brick drive
under the lavish porte-cochère for valet parking where you know you
are protected in any kind of weather. As you open the entrance doors
your view takes in the Intrigue blue waterfall wall and as you enter
the vestibule all your senses are impacted with the great sound
system, upscale environment and fresh smell of the bakery.

To the right you gaze through sheers where the shadows of the blue
crystal and ice bar top in Intrigue give you a feeling of excitement.
Intrigue is truly innovative and the originator of pouring vodka, gin
and tequila at less than 5 degrees from three tall frozen towers
pouring from a dozen taps to ensure you the coldest martini in the
country. As you look into the lounge, you will immediately notice the
fire and water sunken conversation pit. Relax and enjoy the warmth and
passion you feel as you take in the full view of the pit. A great spot
for romantic, intimate meetings. What a place to gather with friends!
Another original and most intriguing part of the lounge is the
aromatherapy oxygen bar. Enjoy personalized sessions of high purity
oxygen with your choice of aromatherapy scent. Indulge as you breathe
purer air while receiving the benefits of all natural aromatherapy and
relax as you enjoy your neck and back massage.

After leaving the lounge your senses are awakened again with the smell
and sight of the bakery showcase with its huge variety of cheesecakes
featuring, CHEESECAKE BY THE SCOOP™, of which we are the originators.
Instead of the traditional one slice and one topping, we give you the
opportunity to try 2 flavors for the price of one slice. You can enjoy
some of our combinations like White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and
Key Lime, Chocolate and White Chocolate Strawberry, German Chocolate
and Chocolate, just to name a few. Cheesecake by the Scoop™ includes
our world famous pecan crust crumbles layered throughout and topped
with signature toppings providing an amazing flavor profile. Our
Original Cheesecake by the Scoop™ has never before been done - Enjoy!

As you gaze on the fire back lit front desk you immediately gaze on
all three, Sweet, Fire & Ice. One step into the dining room gives you
a feeling of comfort and warmth of fire emanating from the open
kitchen. You will be surprised at the kitchen. Instead of the usual
stainless steel kitchen, you will notice the difference of our copper
kitchen, surrounded by copper colored tiles, introducing the cutting
edge of the industry. Sweet Fire & Ice's menu includes appetizers,
salads, soups, sandwiches, pastas, rotisserie, signature dishes,
sizzlin' steaks, fish house, and seafood platters. We offer a huge
selection of menu items for every palette. Sweet Fire & Ice has it all
- a beautiful dining room, Intrigue - Fireside Martini & Oxygen Lounge
and a delicious Bakery.

The food, the service, the ambiance, the scene, the people are all
reasons for being here and to feel with all your senses, and most
importantly, to enjoy life - for it is oh so SWEET! Enjoy, hope you
return soon and please tell your friends. Our mission is to
serve our guests better than any one."

Every paragraph is gold. R.I.P. Sweet Fire & Ice.

Hey, Shags, maybe you can pick up Al's trademark on his Cheesecake By the Scoop for your place?
