They have great coffee.

Me three!

Totally. Starbucks? Ack. I can make better coffee using my dirty drawers as a filter and fire ants for beans. Shit's flavorless. McDonald's/Hardees/Burker King all seem to sling the same stuff, unless my mind's playing tricks on me, and it's at least better than you'd expect. For road trips, nothing's better than the shitty watered-down mudpuddle brew you find in small town gas stations.

Burker King rules.

In the summer a coffee coolata from Dunkin' Donuts is where it's at.

Dunkin Donuts is good but I scalded the HELLLLLLL outta my mouth in Boston the last time I drank it. McD's is alright here; they use Seattle's Best, which is like the most budget of all NW roasteries, but it ain't bad when there is no Stumptown roast around.

You said it. Christ, I can't wait for this summer. It's like 40-some degrees here and I wanna break out the cabana-wear.

I read that most fast food places have dramatically increased the quality of their coffee within the last year or two, to compete with starbucks. and I also read that starbucks is going to start offering breakfast to go.

Both of these are true. Also, Commercial coffees (i.e. Maxwell House and Folgers) now compliment their selections with dark roast arabica. Starbucks (although I'm not a big fan of them) has done the most to expose the average coffee drinker to better quality coffee. In doing so, they educated the consumer, and now have to suppliment their shrinking market share.

The Gold Dust Casino/gas station off 80 just in the Nevada border (from CA) has sixteen vacuum pots of "gourmet" blend coffees. Always available in 36 oz and with flavor shots.

No shit! The one on Cortland/Clybourn -- they're the reason I stopped adding cream and sugar to coffee.

Started this week up here...I still pass em buy for a sausage egg mcmuffin. Sorry y'all--they're good! The thing that drives me bananas are these cafes that serve "breakfast" and they just scramble some eggs, put em in a Glad leftover container and microwave it with a few chunks of cheese in it, then wrap that dry crap up on a bagel. SOOOOOOO unappetizing.

Tiger Mart and 7-11 both have pretty OK coffee - its usually pretty freshly made too

McDonald's in Canada and Krispy Kremes. Tiger Mart is a coffee smorgasbord.

Starbucks=Ass. Burger KIng breakfast rules, so I can take the coffee. In Columbus, many people think White Castle has the best coffee, and it sells like crazy in grocery stores, too. I've never had it. Anybody got an opinion?

BK breakfast croisants leave too much grease on your paws.

too much grease

I love those things. Nick taught me to add a layer of hash browns to one and dip it in BK ketchup. That's the shit!

I can't even remember the last time I ate a fast-food breakfast. I can't abide by their tyrannically strict hours. If I want a croissanwich at noon, why can't I have one? This is supposed to be America. Does anybody have French Toast Sticks anymore?

I never liked how the english muffin on the Egg McMuffin was barely toasted. It has the consistency of steamed foam rubber. Don't they know that toasting increases the quality of bread products by 72%? It's a proven fact!

too much grease
Does not compute.

I, too, want a croissanwich at noon!! That always pisses me off. But, I'm pretty sure BK still has french toast sticks. THAT is my second favorite bk breakfast.
