REPEAT - DO NOT BOIL

you need to cook LONG LOW SLOW

PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK
PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK
PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK

get a good DRY RUB. rub the ribs. let the rub sink in.
use a weber or other kettle type SMOKER. put in charcoal and when it gets hot, add WOOD CHIPS - your choice, hickory, mesquite (not my choice, but people like it), fruit woods - from apple trees or whatever fruit trees
this should generate SMOKE
put ribs on the rack - make sure they don't get hit w/ flames (which is why you wait for the coals to get heated and then they're glowing, not flaming)
spritz w/ water to encourage smoke

this will take a long time - you should spend some time reading up on smoking online--- you CAN do it on your stove top, i have to satisfactory results

if you have to do it in the oven --- cook LONG, LOW AND SLOW
put sauce on LATER.... after ribs are done.

if you MUST put sauce on while cooking - wait til last 1/2 hour or so, and you'll get a glaze. sauce of your liking - there's no right or wrong there
