I think it used to be "cozy", but it morphed because "koozie" is more fun to say and hear.

I always spelt it 'coozie.' looks kinda vulgar, I guess.

It is a cozy (like a tea cozy) but it has always been pronounced and spelled (officially anyway) as "Koozie". I have plenty of these up at the Hardy cabin and some are official KOOZIE's with a trademark.

I might own more koozies than actual drinking glasses.

I got a red w/white polka dots one for Christmas. It had white fluffy feathers all around the bottom. Very strange...

How'd your Koozies hold up against Katrina? Our styrofoam ones up at the cabin survived a flood.

koozies are indestructible, I think. mine were in a high cabinet and didn't get any water. interesting fact: I have koozies from Orange Beach AL and Ship Island, MS, both purchased approximately two weeks before each of those places was destroyed by hurricanes Ivan and Katrina, respectively.

Those Koozies were like Kryptonite to Katrina.

It's a koozie or coozie. My fav koozie is my Alice Cooper one. It's somehow gratifying to chug my cheapo beer outta a famously reformed alcoholics beer koozie.

Cozy is what they're called, Koozie(tm) is the brand name. Like tissue vs. Kleenex, or bandage vs. Band-Aid.
