1.Bob's Big Boy Blue Cheese or Rocquefort- I can't get any out here. It's been way too long. HUGE chunks of cheese in it.
2.Gerrard's Caesar
3.Ken's Country French
4. Hidden Valley Ranch (made from the packet only)

Gimme a vinegarette over some greens and a good slab of bread and butter. Ranch, bleu cheese -- alla those milk-based dressings make me sick on salads. Save 'em for wings!

proportions:
1/3 balsamic vinegar
1/3 some kind of citrus juice
1/3 olive oil

herbs, spices, mustard, honey to your liking.

shake/stir

either a nice champagne viniger or a sherry viniger

some nice olive oil. don't skimp on the cheap shit.

fresh herbs, like thyme, parsley, etc

a thinly sliced shallot

lemon is nice as is fresh cracked pepper

I like white wine vinaigrette.

But Ken's makes a good creamy italian. I think that's what it's called.

The other day my husband mixed some blue cheese crumbles into some creamy italian and claimed it was a good idea.

Definitely save the ranch for the wings. Or the cheesy fries.

Pomegranate vinaigrette (you can use pom syrup, from the middle eastern or greek grocer or that POM stuff)....that, olive oil, shallot and a bit of sherry or champagne vinegar....yum!
