The Reds...truly ass kickin' and proof you dont have to be a cripple on your instrument to make top shelf punk rock music. Their latest incarnation, the Marked Men are killer, but the Reds stuff kicks my ass every time I hear it.
Also dont sleep on their honky tonk country alter ego, The Mosier Valley Boys...not only can Mark tear up some loud stuff, but the dude is smoove on the lap steel as well.

Do the Reds count? I do like their records better than the Marked Men, though the live show is a push. I couldn't believe how good they were the first time I saw them (which was probably the worst time I saw them), and I couldn't believe that outside of a couple towns, no one came out to see them. Idjits! All the bands mentioned here are good. I'd like to add off the toppa my head the Carbonas, who just keep getting appreciably better every time they record something new.

Of all the bands mentioned, only the Tyrades and Catholic Boys are worthy of this title in my opinion. Reds best of the decade? No. A-Frames are too weird to be punk. Black Lips don't really fit. Spits are played out. I need to hear the second Carbonas LP.

The Kodiaks!!!!! They have a couple of singles out and they are totally the shit. To my ears, Oblivians sounding (yep two guitars and drums) but with might Yoshi on vocals screeching away. Suprised I haven't read more on the board about the Kodiaks since they are evil!!

I don't like the Kodiaks single on Yakisakana at all. I'd consider Lost Sounds one of the great bands of the 21st century, but for some reason I don't think of them as a punk band, whatever that means. A couple more Regulations records as good as "Survive in the City" would put them right up there.

OK, I changed my mind. You're right, Bazooka--Black Lips win. They're punk as fuck. And when I say the A-Frames are too weird to be punk, that's a compliment, not a put down. None of these bands are playing straight forward punk rock. They're all unique, which makes it difficult.

I never have cared for the Spits though. Sorry.
