Goner Message Board / ???? / What movie did you watch yesterday?
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 7:47 pm
I watched 20 minutes of this shitty music about techno called Groove. It's really bad. All the people in it were horrible at acting. A lot of people talking about/doing Ecstasy. Idiots dancing stupidly under disco balls and strobe lights. Never watch this movie.

music -movie-
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 7:53 pm
we watched "Bubba Ho Tep" on Friday & it was really friggin' funny. Bruce Campbell rules.
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 7:56 pm
"The Sonsabitches Live at Hammersmith '84"

The make out scenes with the ladies is awesome, and at the end they use their mind powers to launch an MX missle into an REO Speedwagon concert at a different city while they play "Ridin the Storm Out".

O.k, it's not a movie, but I thought about it while I was trimming the hedges yesterday.
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 7:57 pm
Yeah but he said 'yesterday.' We didn't watch a movie yesterday. What's so special about yesterday? I'm gonna kill a mother fucker.

Bubba Ho Tep was awesome though.
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 7:58 pm
I watched a little bit of "Soccer Dog: European Cup" on WAMtv last night. You're probably wondering how it stacks up to "Air Bud 3: World Pup".. Well, I didn't really see enough of it to formulate an opinion yet, but there were lots of bad Scottish stereotypes, and that was funny. It's going to air again on Friday morning and I've already got the tivo set to record it, so maybe I'll report back.
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 8:00 pm
I watched some tv series (dont know what its called) where charlie sheen hung out with a little fat kid and wrote a song for a cartoon show. He hasnt been the same since "Lucas".
Posted: Aug 9, 2005 8:03 pm
Yeah but he said 'yesterday.'

I like gore

I like donuts.

harold and maude. i love this movie but i think it's partly responsible for inspiring the onslaught of "emo fag" movies with trendy soundtracks about self-loathing, confused, rich twerps such as garden state, in good company, donnie darko, and igby goes down. too bad really.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 1:39 am
buffalo 66. christina ricci looks better as a fat girl. her tits are outstanding! and that powder blue glitter eyeshadow...
vincent gallo does too much running and not enough killing himself.

Stef and I watched "Sideways" the other night. It was okay, I guess.

"Life Aquatic" rules! The first Anderson film I've enjoyed all the way through.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 2:23 am
Buffalo 66' is only worth watching b/c Christina Ricci is in it and I've wanted to suck on her tits since I was 13.......otherwise the flick is a big piece o' shit.

Watched "Weekend At Bernie's" today on cable.........like a fine wine, this just gets better with age.....

I watched 20 minutes of this shitty music about techno called Groove

Oh man...I used to know some raver kids who would watch this c o n s t a n t l y. It's horrible. I admit to kinda liking that movie "Go" though...of course I haven't seen it since high school so there's a good chance I'd hate it now.

There's nothing quite like watching old classic film noir in the wee hours of the morning.

There's nothing quite like watching old classic film noir in the wee hours of the morning.

I'm gonna slit your fuckin' throat.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 4:01 am
I watched the first half of 'The Man Who Would Be King' last night. About to finish it now. Michael Caine and Sean Connery playing a couple of fuck-up Brit soldiers trying to take over a small country. Highlight so far was when the countryfolk behead Oota and play polo with his skull. Not bad.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 4:52 am
Last Detail is a great movie. Eric, I watched that last year, a Netflix recommendation, I guess? Not bad.

I went and saw Sarabande yesterday. Really good.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 4:58 am
just watvhed I heart huckabees, really good.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 5:17 am
Harder They Come is awesome. love the part where he watches Django in the theater. nother great flick.

been on an Eddie Murphy kick lately. SNL best of with where he changes into a white guy is so proto-chappelle. and James Brown Hot Tub Party is so funny. ive seen Raw like three times within the past week. and Coming To America has gotta be one of the top 5 funniest movies ever. the man was untouchable in the 80s.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 5:23 am
Raw and Delirious are great...

What the fuck happened to Eddie Murphy?
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 5:49 am
He got caught with a trannie prosty, remember?

But yeah, the SNL "Best Of" thing rules. And most anything the man did during the '80s. Also, because I'm racist and all black people in the '80s look the same, Richard Pryor's role in "The Toy" and that movie in general is fucking great.

Dan Gerous, try "Last American Virgin" again. It rules.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 5:57 am
Eddie Murphy is the new Bill Cosby.

I heard a rumor that Tarrantino was talking to him about making Beverly Hills Cop 4.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 8:25 am
Last Detail is a great movie

Hell yes. "I AM the fucking shore patrol!" That's one of the least watched, most under acclaimed flicks of all time. How people can worship "The Shining" and not love that movie is beyond me....
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 1:11 pm
I watched The London Nobody Knows, a documentary shot in 1967, narrated (brilliantly, as per) by the one, the only James Mason!!! Some great stuff of old theatres, street markets, sites where Jack The Ripper, erm, worked, and other long lost weirdness, all with Mason's fruity drawl!!! Some bloke's selling it on eBay, and I got a burnt copy of a mate ... Quite the best thing I've seen since, well, I rented Crumb, that Flaming Lips doc, and Dead Of Night the other week, when I was off woik with a bad back (nope, I did it shifting boxes!) ...

Have also been digging a DVD boot of really early Ramones stuff, like, shot in 1975 at their rehearsal loft at Radio City Recorders; a brace of awesome TV docs about CBGBs, shot in 1977, and other weird guff that's turned up, like the full 'Dolls gig in LA when Killer Kane had his arm in plaster and the roadie's playing bass - Killer, bless 'im, hangs around by Nolan's kit for the duration of the set, cheering along, and drinkin' ...

Posted: Aug 10, 2005 5:55 pm
Everytime I get wasted I put in the Gumby: Gumbasia dvd w/o sound while somewthing weird is on the turntable.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 6:10 pm
Saw '68 Comeback for the first time last night. Guitar Wolf what?

Then we watched Big Lebowski again.

Django was fun too.

Nicholson did Easy Rider-Five Easy Pieces-Last Detail-Chinatown, in order, right? That's a pretty good streak.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 7:48 pm
Psych-Out (1968)
Easy Rider (1969)
On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970)
Five Easy Pieces (1970)
Carnal Knowledge (1971)
The King of Marvin Gardens (1972)
Chinatown (1974)
The Last Detail (1974)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

I've never seen "On a Clear Day..." or The King of Marvin Gardens" but yeah, that's quite a streak.

Posted: Aug 10, 2005 8:57 pm
King of Marvin Gardens is ok...not amazing or anthing.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:08 pm
Hal Ashby made three of the best movies ever with Harold and Maude, the Last Detail, and Being there

check out The Hospital (George C. Scott) written by Paddy Chayefsky (Network) for another great movie in that vein
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:09 pm
I'll second Lastname's Last American Virgin. One of my favorite all-time party/sex romps. Actually it was the first movie I saw with sexiness, that I can recall. And watching it years later is only more hilarious. The scene where they bring the girls back to the parent's house for the 'coke party' is priceless in its shenanigans, and the fact that the Cars' "Shake it Up" seems to get played every ten minutes is great, too. Seriously, it's like every time there's any kind of fight or chase scene, there it is... Devo, too!
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:12 pm
I rented the Getaway the other night but didn't have time to watch it ('sokay, I seen it before). McQueen not Sheen. That's a great movie. Peckinpah my world.

I think I hate Harold and Maude. Fucking hippies.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:14 pm
I don't know what happened to my Being THere VHS. Peter Sellers ruled.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:16 pm
Watched part of Raging Bull last night, I love the costumes and the cinematography. It is one of those "loud-soft" movies, not so good when your kid is asleep in the next room.
"Bubba Ho Tep" is a great movie, we loved it! A must see for any Elvis fans out there.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:25 pm
I think I hate Harold and Maude. Fucking hippies.

I think you mean Harold and Nancy, I Love You Alice B. Toklas
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:26 pm
I like Harold and Maude but I fucking hate Cat Stevens and that gaggy soundtrack.
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:28 pm
Bruce Campbell sucks and was an arrogant asshole when I met him at a local book signing, which I don't get at all being that he's just a shitty b list actor. He really thinks he's something though.

No, I hate Harold and Maude. And so does Harold Fine.

Am I the only one who hates Harold and Maude? That only makes me hate it more.

Am I the only one who hates Harold and Maude?

I'm sure there's a support group somewhere
Posted: Aug 10, 2005 9:38 pm
Am I the only one who hates Harold and Maude?

I bet I hate The Neverending Story more.

The key to liking Harold and Maude is you have to find Maude sexy. If you don't, you'll never understand. She's fuckin HOT.

Spiderman 2 on hbo last night
