Is it out already? I want to stop buying records for awhile cause I'm more than bankrupt. But I gotta HAVE this one, amongst others.
I'm addicted. And the Black Lips, the Fatals, the Ghetto Ways, Andre Williams, the Mojomatics, Magnetix etc are coming to Holland too, again.
I have to take a loan.

Came out...uh...last week.

You're not alone. I've tried to take a break from buying records but then I feel like I'm missing out. I have a serious problem.

Total Brillance. Has anybody else seen this?

He just flops around on the stage and makes gurgling noises into the mike. As he's walking off he says: "I've gotta go have sex with your mothers," and the crowd goes nuts. Damn, that's the good stuff.

It's on a 2 CD set of Milwaukee Punk and New Wave called a History in 3 Chords. Both Death and In a Hot Coma are pre-Haskels, from '73 to 75 and are really great. There was supposedly a Haskels reissue coming out with all that stuff on it, but nope...

Ruby" on the radio a week or so ago and realized I never paid much attention to the lyrics before.

That's where I copped the Mangina lyric:
"It's your patriotic chore,
to fuck that slant-eyed whore."
-"Yellow Fever" available on Jeth-row records single in time for the Rockening.

But I don't think the original is Kenny. Hellstomper covers it and I think some other country great wrote it -maybe "for Kenny". Great song.

Bored at work this a.m. so I did some good ol' online research:

It was written by Mel Tillis, who would go on to be a sizable country star in the 70's. (Despite his stuttering habit.) Kenny apparently originally heard the tune on a Roger Miller record. Waylon Jennings and Glen Campbell had also recorded it by that time.

BTW, today (8/21) is Kenny Rogers' birthday. He's 67.
