Goner Message Board / ???? / Call it the horn

A recent discussion with some friends mocking the band Chicago and Kenny G brought up this question: In the broad category of rock (not jazz, soul, etc), has there been a good band since the 60's that has had a horn in it let alone multiple horns? A Bones, X Ray Specs, maybe the Mummies and the Milkshakes on a few tracks... Dual lead synthesizers, sure, but two horns?

Rip Rig & Panic?

Morphine.

Most of 'em just use hired guns. E Street Band just had Clarence, and then hired trumpets, etc.

Define "good".

A GF of mine edited Wheedle's Groove about the Seattle Soul scene and for them to get Quincy Jones in the movie they had agree to interview Kenny G. That was Quincy's stipulation to be involved. She had been grumbling about it, but when she did the 2 interviews she was so excited, because Kenny G. ended up being one of the best interviews in the movie (and sadly Quincy Jones was a huge dud)

Kenny G. was a veteran of the 1970's Seattle scene in the Black On White Affair.

The movie is great if you haven't seen it.

The Saints had a horn section at some point.

I was taking a dump in a swanky medical office building I frequent and I think they were playing a Kenny G does The Peanuts Xmas album, it wasn't bad to listen too under those circumstances.

Kenny G kinda shocked me in the Whedle's Groove doc as well. It wasn't until the second or third time he appeared onscreen did it really all connect and I thought, "THAT Kenny G?"
