Well written. Not sure if I agree with all of the authors pontifications, but it's an interesting read.
Dude I never would have stuck around at that show. I would like to know what lead up to a situation like that.
My attitude is that if the cops are monitoring you it's not worth it. Business minded people would take just the opposite perspective maybe, because if the cops are interested all sorts of other goons must be interested too....but I would rather just focus on something less high-profile.
I'm more into revolt than rebellion...I think rebellion is kind of stupid. I've read papers about how the focus of the 60's counterculture shifted from revolt to rebellion, this is some sort of academic issue.....
My attitude about cops is that they got a job to do, and they need to stick to their job and leave me alone. I'm trying to get as far away from 'square' culture as I can...Allot of people would love to instigate some shit with the cops and just wind up shakin their dick against the window at Denny's. It's pretty cool to be able to challenge the status quo in such a silly way...like English Punk did...but I'm more like a NYC punk I guess, I like to hang out in a dive bar where the cops don't bother us because they are to busy catching real criminals or fucking each others wives or eating donuts or whatever guys who drive company cars like to do.
