Goner Message Board / ???? / Wreckless Eric- Donovan of trash

To my ears this is hands down his best LP. This guy split the remaining box with Eric when Hangman folded and he's selling the last copies. Never see this LP around. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171028765480?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid= p3984.m1497.l2649

Oh yeah, it's a great one. "Joe Meek" in particular is a remarkable piece of song craft. I think I've actually got two copies of it.

Nice interview here.

Sympathy for the Record Industry released the CD format of 'Donovan of Thrash', how did that happen?
"I wish I never had anything to do with Sympathy For the Record Industry because that guy (Long Gone John) is not exactly straight. He told me he pressed up 1,000 copies of it and he's still selling it. It's taken him all these years to sell 1,000 copies? Like 18 years or something, I don't understand that."

The CD is around but not these LP's.

still bummed i didn't buy a copy of the first Len Bright Combo lp when he was getting rid of his last copies on his website...

Yep, that's a killer record too. And even harder to come by.

Yeah, I found a copy of that about a decade or so at 2nd Avenue records in Portland. It had been pulled out of their store room and still had the price on it from when it was originally on the shelves. Needless to say, I didn't hesitate. Best album title ever.

"The Len Bright Combo Present the Len Bright Combo by The Len Bright Combo"

And if you haven't read his book "A Dysfunctional Success", it is one of the best rock'n'roll memoirs I've ever read.

Jealous. One album that I might one day break my cheap-streak for.

Thanks for the reminder on the book - saw a copy at Powell's once, but passed it up because it was $30. Gotta track a copy down one of these days - always loved his stories when he'd appear on wfmu.

"Listening to you is like looking at a road accident and not wanting to" What an opening line!

Rather proves his point though.

Posted: May 23, 2013 2:01 pm
i do, but don't wanna pay the $23USD shipping from the UK on the ebay sale.
you got another option?
Posted: May 23, 2013 6:53 pm
I'll buy a couple/few and send one over. Should work out cheaper.
Posted: May 24, 2013 12:51 am
what, do you have a supply?
Posted: May 24, 2013 1:11 am
That eBay link says they have more than one available. Or am I missing something?

Ok if someone wants to buy a bunch, and then mark em up a buck or two and sell one for me to order at U.S. shipping rates....then count me in! And you should start a distro or importer/exporter biz while you're at it!
Posted: May 24, 2013 8:37 am
totally. i would buy one.
Posted: May 24, 2013 9:20 am
yeah, i'm in too.
let me know what you can do muddy.
Posted: May 24, 2013 11:43 am
Alright, send 11 to chickendog90 at hotmail dot com, and I'll go ahead and buy whoever pays. Or if it's just the three of you, can you please add 3 (UK shipping divided by 3) making it 14, and then I'll let you know what the additional U.S. shipping rates are.

Shit, that looks pricey, but I've not added anything apart from a few pence to round things up.

Why don't you have them chip in another few quid so that you can get the last copy for yourself as an agent's fee. That's what a proper entrepreneur would do.
Posted: May 24, 2013 1:12 pm
i tried to buy a bunch of copies at wholesale but he wasn't interested.
