Is Katy Tom's wife's name? All those times I was introduced to her, I never internalized her name. I feel like a jerk.

He still speaks fondly of this as well.

Wait until y'all hear the new band. We're very happy with how it's coming together.

Incredible drummer, super nice guy, and smart as all get out. He is teaching in Ireland right now.

I don't need Bob Seger with Bob Seger Liberation Army.

i think Potter is livin in the Skege...last time i seen him. He once called my Squire Bullet guitar "gay". I felt shame.

My favorite of his bands too. Not sure if I'd rather see Just Say No or Chrome Spiders on a ferry going across to Wisconsin though.

Having Potter join TSOT was a DREAM COME TRUE!

I got my Seger Army cd personally from Tom "The Man!" Potter at The Gibson Bros. reunion. What a guy! It's the perfect music for out running cops on country roads Dukes of Hazzard style.

Detroit city council!!!

I loved those guys & used to put them up in Columbus. Saw them first in 1996, opening for Chavez & New Bomb Turks @ the old Grog Shop in Cleveland.

I've got a couple of live shows videotaped somewhere around the house, too. One was @ Vegas Shakedown with Jim Diamond playing with them & another was @ the Alrosa Villa in Columbus with NBT & Zeke.

Really good guys. Was Mike the guy who replaced Eric? Good guy, too. Seems like I recall a super cute brunette from Columbus who was annoying as hell going up to Detroit a lot & bugging Mike.

Look for Potter in Jackpot! with the Sibbersons & ex-Horchata guitarist, Chris Butler, not to be confused with the guy from The Waitresses or the woman from NJ who plays keyboards.

i have a tape of nothing but inbetween song banter a la VENOM @ CITY GARDENS. Lots of "WHOOO!"s. No one's ever heard it, not even Tom.

Jim Diamond was always the unspoken third Bantam Rooster member...

inbetween song banter

isn't that what they were best at?
Posted: Jan 29, 2013 4:37 pm

i remember once when i was probably 17 or 18 seeing bantam rooster in green bay, at concert cafe. it was probably the 3rd/4th time i'd seen them, i feel like the played green bay a LOT. anyway i was standing up near the front of the stage and i cant remember exactly what he said, but tom potter made eye contact with me and said something like "hey, there's that kid" and kinda half pointed at me. i never felt so cool!

Tom saw this thread at my house the other day (before you posted this) and he mentioned this infamous tape. Funny.

Never saw you Nick sorry.

Is there anyway that banter tape can be uploaded. I would love to hear it. Many great memories of seeing Bantam Rooster and the TP Version of Dirtbombs.

I was subbing for my friend at his record store the day after the Bantam Rooster show in Montana and they both(I believe the drummer on Fuck All Y'All) came in. We had some beers and good chat. great guys.

What year was that? I might have been with them, '97 or so, I guess
Posted: Feb 1, 2013 2:56 pm

It would have been more like 99ish. It was Ear Candy Records and I was playing the Saints. Tom mentioned they had done a Saints cover. Everytime I saw BR I made them play Hey Bartendress. Love that whole album.
