I love that manatees 45. So what's up with pelican pow wow? I assume this is their first release. The name and logo rule. Pelicans in Indian head dresses just make me happy. Are they planning anything else?

Hey Cole, suuuuuup? And thanks!

Up next Buck Biloxi & the Fucks/Legendary Wings split 7", a Birthstone record of yet to be determined length, and probably then a Mac Blackout Band single.

The question remains. Orgone v. Oregone

ooga booga's new lp

Also, the Hussy's upcoming PAGAN HISS LP sounds crazy good. Leaves WEED SEIZURE in the dust in every way.

A track from the upcoming DARKTHRONE album... It's gonna fuckin' rule!!!!
Posted: Jan 15, 2013 6:33 pm
I was reading MRR on my lunch break today and saw the Goner add. I want all four of those 45s. Good job putting Memphis bands out there
Every time I go to a show, a Memphis band is opening and they're the one's l go home excited about. I'm not sure a Memphis comp is needed anymore. Just put out a IV 45 (socks on and the captain kirk cover), another Sharp Balloons 45(shark stuff and shitty car), and were good. Well, that depends on what other Manatee's songs get released.
Posted: Jan 15, 2013 9:00 pm
really excited about that buck/wings split. I just pulled out that wings 7" questions..the one with billy crystal on it...I hadn't listened to it a lot. I think when I got it I was going through one of those periods where you can't get certain records off your turntable. After four spins I can't believe I slept on this.is the back art by Ben Lyon?
Posted: Jan 15, 2013 9:19 pm
man this kinda sucks, but i just realized i havent been excited about a record before it came out, or before i heard it...i dont know how long. i mean, i like some stuff when i hear it, but i never look forward to anything, really. except my own bands' records. haha. ohhhhh shit. whatever
Posted: Jan 15, 2013 9:22 pm | Edited by: Patrick D
Buck Biloxi/Wings split is gonna be a killer.
Posted: Jan 15, 2013 10:04 pm
I've been trying to think back, and I feel like "too much guitar" was the last record i was genuinely excited about before it came out. Seems like a long time ago.
Posted: Jan 15, 2013 10:24 pm
I don't get it nick. There's to much cool shit for me. Whatever awesome noise you hear in your head...... someone out there is playing it. I'm sitting here getting off on a record I bought 2 years ago! I can't keep up!
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 8:06 am
yeah. its not you, its me?
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 10:00 am
but i never look forward to anything, really. except my own bands' records

So what's up with The Oblivians record? Sony has some long hair by the throat and they're sitting on it until summer?

I remember when some rich prick shithead emailed me to tell me he had all the Bug House master plates in his possession and there basically wasn't shit I could do. I knew this meat head twerp before he had any money and was still mostly listening to Shellac, what I learned was money doesn't make you any smarter or nicer in fact the opposite...It can make you prettier thow with the help of a good dentist to cover your black as shit Steven King "It" Clown mouth...but I digress, sorry for the tangent.

But anyway, that was the point where I was like fuck making records. Well there was other shit to...all in all it was a horrible experience.

So when is this scorching hot wax going to be on my turn table is what I realy want to know?
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 10:03 am
NickG you're jaded...do you do Facebook yet?
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 10:15 am
I'm with you Nick, and like you there are plenty of records I end up liking a lot, I just don't really care what's "on the docket" and haven't for years.
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 10:34 am
i'm more excited about going to the thrift store to see what old gold awaits, but lately i ain't been finding shit.
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 10:47 am

Posted: Jan 16, 2013 12:52 pm
Dick Diver! Love that album. Lazy, beer drinkin, porch sittin jams.
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 1:21 pm | Edited by: tigerblinds
Yeah! Dick Diver!..those girls kill it!
Posted: Jan 16, 2013 1:28 pm | Edited by: tigerblinds
Oh sorry I meant Dick Janitor...Dick Diver looks like some shit I'm not into, can't relate too, don't give a flying flip about.

When Dick Janitor puts out a record, that will make me excited.

I can't wait for Oblivians & Human Eye records. I haven't been overly excited about anything this year otherwise, although the Howling Hex record is kind of cool. Anyone else find anything good?

Is the Gino and the Goons release from this year? I do like that one.
Posted: Mar 31, 2013 3:31 pm
Oh, and the Milk Music LP is okay after two listens but I haven't found the kind of hooks that were on the EP in any of the songs.
Posted: Apr 10, 2013 2:51 pm
Sex Church "Somnambulist" EP is currently a fave.
Posted: Apr 21, 2013 6:09 pm
land of Nod Atlanta Punk and Hardcore Omnibus is my favorite record of 2013 so far. Essential.
