Uh, hello!!!??

Posted: Dec 12, 2012 3:12 pm
I got an idea. There's a place on Poplar about to close down called the Hi Fone or something or nother. Someone could re-open that building space and have bands play there. Just a thought.

Q: How many Bazooka Joes does it take to change a light bulb?

A: How the fuck would I know? I'v never seen him at Gonerfest.
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 3:36 pm
Bazooka Joe walks into a bar. But it wasn't at Gonerfest.
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 3:37 pm
Q: What's the difference between Bazooka Joe and an eel?

A: An eel has been to Gonerfest.
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 3:45 pm
A priest and a rabbi walk into Gonerfest. Priest says, "Hey, Bazooka Joe's not here.". Rabbi says, "No shit, Sherlock."
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 3:49 pm
Knock, knock
Who's there?
Gonerfest who?
Oh, this must be Bazooka.Joe's house.

Posted: Dec 12, 2012 4:59 pm
Bazooka Joe can't handle Gonerfest.
He's an OLD MAN!
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 5:51 pm
Hi Tone is shutting down? Really?

Guess Memphis' touring-band scene is about to come to an end pretty quick.
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 7:17 pm
Most touring goner-type bands only play the hitone during gonerfest. the rest of the year its usually buccaneer, murphys, poplar lounge...
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 7:32 pm | Edited by: Jack Stands
I second JoeT's second statement.
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 9:00 pm
By "low attendance," Jonathan is clearly faulting Bazooka Joe for never showing up to shows.
Posted: Dec 12, 2012 9:38 pm
"what happened to hi tone? sorry, ive been living in caves."

Yeah, really! Could you be more specific, please? It seems like the calendar for Jan '013 is up and running. I haven't fast-forwarded to other months but i didn't think i needed to since Jan was going on.

Did someone buy the building? Is Elvis's dojo gonna go Condo? If so,i know a certain Siberia about 6 hours away that got all its' papers in order... just sayin'.

Just wanted to say how awesomely ironic it would be for the person with the record for "number of times kicked out of the Hi-Tone during Gonerfest" (not Bazooka Joe, because he's never been) bought the place and made it Siberia North.

I think it must have been the original Barristers. Did you have to go down some stairs on the way in?
Posted: Dec 17, 2012 7:26 pm
Leftpeg, yes.
Posted: Dec 17, 2012 7:39 pm
Did you have to go down some stairs on the way in?

Not a full flight. Just two or three. Stage was immediately to the left of the door.
Posted: Dec 17, 2012 7:52 pm
the biggest complaint I heard about the hi tone was not enough pissers for the ladies and not enough AC. Although the hi tone is kinda legendary, there may be a more badass-er spot, yo.
Posted: Dec 17, 2012 9:19 pm
Let's move it to SHAKERAG!
Posted: Dec 18, 2012 1:40 am
My cubicle neighbor went to school there.
When he brought it up, I was almost, like, "Hey! Shakerag! I know these guys...".
But then, I shut my mouth.
