After you run out of Italian...switch to Japanese. Itchi the Killer, Dark Water, Audition... Horrifying and nutzoid.

Actually Mondo films aren't really horror. Whatever.

Try 'The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue' (US title: 'Don't Open the Window'), an Italian/Spanish production from 1974 set in South Gate, not Manchester.

Cannibal Holocaust!

I've seen that one Joe. If I hadn't seen it, and you gave me the rec, I might kick you in the balls next Gonerfest. Just playin', but seriously that movie is kinda cool....but I don't want to ever watch it again.

The Mario Brava fest starts now!

I watched Phenomena on Halloween...and it was awful. The soundtrack is alright and Jennifer Connelly is alright - but the direction and plot is horribad. Did this movie really need to be a horror film to tell this story? What did the killer add to the story at all? It follows the typical route for 80s horror but fails to build any sort of suspense or mystery around the killer - and climaxes in a bizarre and confusingly hasty mish mash of gore and violence in the end.

I kind of agree on Phenomena....I was entertained by it, but I can't defend it. His next film, Opera, I liked a lot.......and then it's a bunch of crap.

Really liked Black Sunday! I'm about to watch Black Sabbath. Ordered Fulci's Zombie from Amazon, never seen it. I read online about a zombie vs shark scene. Stocked for that.

Cole : It is, and directed by Luigi Cozzi, who is also responsible for STARCRASH (check that one out, too, if you go for sci-fi).

Sergio Martino made 5 giallos in the early 70's. See them all. Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh is the first and best. Marghereti and Corbucci's Castle of Blood (con Barbara Steele) is one of the best ghost stories I've seen.
