I'll be helping my mom work on stuff at her house, but will have use of her car during the day/evenings when she isn't using it if anyone wants to hang out or grab a meal.

Yet again, I forgot to find a Memphis girlfriend until the month of the show...anybody have a friend they want to fix me up with?

I'll probbably be there one way or another. Uh if any body coming from way up north wants a place to crash for the night at the halfway point..I can help with that. If you could give me and a probably a friend a ride the rest of the way and back we would get gas...har har.

I just finaly got out of debt from the last Gonerfest.....and we're trying to avoid bed bugs at all costs this year...what a drag.

Have you guys bought Golden Tickets?

All stoked with a fresh paycheck, I followed the link to holdmyticket.com this morning. Then I got quickly un-stoked with the $13 in fees they were adding to the $60 ticket.

Is there another avenue for purchasing tix?
Posted: Aug 31, 2012 4:33 pm

I'm going, but I haven't met any of you yet!
Posted: Aug 31, 2012 4:36 pm

Brown paper tickets charges like next to nothing, the tickets are nice and you create your own account.

I think the service fee is like a dollar.

Where is the "gazebo"?
Posted: Sep 1, 2012 7:48 pm

My wife has surprised me for my 40th birthday present with tickets to this. It's also our 1 year anniversary! She has never been to Memphis and can't wait to eat real BBQ.

So siked!

I expect a reinactment of this..

Posted: Sep 2, 2012 12:25 am

That's the best!

Where is the "gazebo"?

Corner of Cooper and Young, right outside Goner.

Great that you're coming!

I'll definitely be there! Also, angry about the $13 service charge. I thought ticketmaster had a monopoly on raping music fans.
Posted: Sep 3, 2012 10:26 pm

I've overcome my fear of convenience fees and am now officially bout it bout it.

You know, I would've bought a $75 ticket without any hesitation - well, other than waiting until I had $75. It's just the psychological trauma of "convenience fees."

Cole needs to buy me a beer to ease my nerves.

I'll be more that happy to buy you many! Only PBR though.....when in Rome sir...

Also, angry about the $13 service charge.
Seriously, with that nonsense, buying a pass saves $5. I'd rather spend the extra $5 out of spite for the service fees. (Or I am really bad at math)

See you there

hey heyyyyyyyy visitors of Memphis!
So for the third year in a row, unusual obligations will prevent me from getting a Golden Ticket, because (to spam y'all a bit) my wife is participating and showing off a badass painting in this awesome event:

The Art of Science is an annual colllaborative project which aims to unite two flourishing yet separate communities in Memphis--the arts and the sciences. The temporary use of scientific imagery is donated from volunteer research scientists at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. This imagery is reinterpreted by artists from Memphis and beyond, culminating in a group exhibition that is free, open to the public, and educational. Art of Science is now in its second year.

The 2012 Art of Science exhibition
will be on display at the Hyde Gallery in Memphis College of Art's Nesin Graduate School at 477 S. Main St.
The show is free and open to the public.
Opening night is Friday, September 28th from 6-9pm.

website is a bit fugly right now, but:

Hell, Jack, not quite. It's been pretty miserable...my digestive system blew up. Still need surgery, but it's best to do it when I'm not so sick. I'm supposed to finish a round of IV antibiotics next Wed, and they're going to let me out then. We'll see.
Thanks for asking. I really am bummed about GF.

Golden Tickets have been purchased, there's no turning back for Windy and me now! I was hoping to make some money at this nasty casino in Iowa, but the joke was on me. I never made it off the floor that had table games, but I'm guessing the I would have found some hot games of "guess which hand" or "rock, paper, scissors".

Unfortunately the Firehouse shirt dissapeared after that trip. I think my girlfriend at the time helped it meet it's demise.

Hello My Name Is Dtrain name tags are tradition so I will have those.

Greg and Ann Campbell

Kind of a cool story. Me and Greg got into a political conversation with Hamish from The Clean. Hamish is an anarchist/socialist and Greg is a fiery Libertarian. I'm just a lefty. Embarrassingly I was just kinda rolling with Hamish because he played in The Clean. Greg was having none of it. It was all really civil and cool though. One of the coolest conversations I've ever had.
Posted: Sep 30, 2012 10:57 am

Greg and Ann are pretty bad ass people. Maybe I darken some doorways of Memphis soon enough.
