That "Mr. Jones" song by Counting Crows. There was a time in the early 90s when that song would not shut up. I hate them.

Almost anything by Elton John.

Bennie & the Jets & that Princess Di shit.

Your Song.

I even hate Levon now.

And Rocket Man.

Fuck Elton John in the neck.

I'm still standing
better than I ever did
looking like a true survivor
feeling like a little kid...

Has Blitzkrieg Bop been used in a commercial? Cos if it has, I now hate it, too.

All songs by Bjork

I don't get how Time Passages could make anyone feel bad. Al Stewart is so easy on the ears.

THIS, and everything that sounds like it. this is the current state of popular music (i know this song is a few years old already):

this makes me want to destroy my radio...

Posted: Apr 2, 2012 2:13 pm

when I was a kid and would hear music from other people's cars and houses Time Passages was one of the things that seemed to always be playing. I thought music was probably one of the worst things ever invented and people were incredibly stupid for abiding it.

Guy on KFJC does a country/folk show that's usually OK, but...

The AVETT BROTHERS.

WORST. BAND. EVER.

The live recording with their moronic fans whooping and hollering is even worse. I gotta switch over to KALX whenever he plays them.

2nd on Time Passages. good thing dude died.

also, anything by "Men at Work"

Truly one of the most horrendous compilations ever produced.

That looks like the playlist of the radio station where I worked circa 1979/80. The music came from a company called Drake-Chenault on big 10" reels that were programmed, along with the spots, by a very primitive computer. I could "go manual" from the production room if something went wrong with RALF (that's what we named the computer.)

It was about then that I realized that radio as a career really fucking sucks.

Dude, Loverboy got that cool moog keyboards synth in full effect. We are essentialy living in the age of Loverboy all over again if you ask me, 99.9 percent of bands are the modern equivalent, I can't wait to rub it in when I'm in my mid 40's.
Posted: Apr 5, 2012 3:49 pm

Anything by Billy Joel sucks, but especially his doo wop shit from the early 80s - "Uptown Girl", "Longest Time", etc.
Posted: Apr 5, 2012 6:17 pm

i was a teenager working in a cabinet factory when this came out. watching the dolts bob their heads to this shit when ever it came on the radio made me want to kill... and kill a lot.

That Thunderbirds video is weird...they do a close up on a Danelectro Longhorn bass body, and then another close up of a Music Man Stingray bass style headstock or something....fucking bogus.

"Okay, fellas, you ready for the big time? Then we're gonna make a video. There should be chicks, cars, motorcycles, and will get you some new suits..."

But I don't hate 'em.

The Bees sound like Jimmy Reed. Good one.
Posted: Apr 6, 2012 12:10 pm

Yeah, that's what took me so long to remember it, I could have sworn it was on one of my Jimmy Reed records.

I used to kill around an hour a day talking to this librarian friend of mine about blues he's about 25 years older than me...he turned me onto alot of the more obscure stuff. Lately I've been getting into jug bands because that's what most of the cool local music history has to do with. Lots of bourbon jugs meant lots of jug bands.
Posted: Apr 6, 2012 12:43 pm

My towns jug bands predate any one elses:

Posted: Apr 6, 2012 12:53 pm

Yeah, that's what took me so long to remember it, I could have sworn it was on one of my Jimmy Reed records.

Can't find anything on them at all, other than they were from Ohio.

Har har. Will To Power...I think that's a Man O War record.
Posted: Apr 10, 2012 5:31 pm

When I hear Elton John sing "rolling like thunder, under the covers" I get to feeling pretty ill. That back to back with Only Women this morning left me feeling thoroughly raunchy by the time I got where I was going.
