This is my first beer, but I've been sipping on it since around 8:30. It's kind of warm now. Was thinking about going to the garage to listen to some records earlier. That's really about how far I've gone with it.
party.

I went out to turn on the light in the garage. Looked around for a minute. Realized I forgot my beer. Came back in to the computer.
We're cookin' now.

The cat just walked by. Thanks, everyone.
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:13 pm

Pet your cat, drink your beer, and play some records. I suggest you start with the Los Buddies e.p. since you've been working with 'em. After you finally get done with your first beer, quickly down two more. Move on to some Wesley Coleman. It's not to late to turn this thing around!
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:15 pm

I don't know. The cat looked at me with disgust and started licking his paw.

Harsh, dudes.
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:18 pm

I hate it when I have to restock the fridge with beer and they're warm. I was just talking about you, Stands. Were your ears burning?
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:19 pm

I started thinking about what I wanted to listen to. Some of that stuff is upstairs. I've got a record player up there, too, but it's really hot.
I could bring those records down here and take them to the garage and listen, but that seems like a lot of work, and what if I decide I want to listen to something else instead? That's upstairs. And I have to go back.
Fuck you, cat. You've been fed already.
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:21 pm

the important question is: are you coming to the hitone Sat? 'Cause you are already on the guest list + family.
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:21 pm

I've been on a Limes kick lately, and listened to them on repeat while I made a salad for dinner, mainly because it was too hot to turn on the stove. That's my excuse for salad cooking, not Limes listenin'
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:28 pm

I do have that Los Buddies 7" outside. and the Wesley Coleman and the James Arthur Manhunt. I also have that 801 Live; really dug it in my jam band days. Doesn't really grow that well. I listened to Phish Junta for the first time in ten years on Sunday. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Troll, I just finished my first beer. I know the next ones are cold. But what if it's too cold? I guess I could take it upstairs for a bit to warm up and get my records... You were probably talking about how your pal in Memphis looks quizically at the Post office, wondering "Isn't there something I'm supposed to be doing over there?"
Well, I decided. You and dtrain are getting the fanclub package v2.0, but with your 1.0 stuff crammed inside.

What, no love for your old buddy carney? come on stands, I need to buy you a beer...
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:33 pm

thanks stands! don't trust no paw-lickin cat!
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:34 pm

Man, that's cool, carney! I was bringing the family down anyway, but I was going to pay for the kids to play. Unless it's like a million dollars, or something. I'll probably need to ebay my maltese falcon.

Limes is great! Acid-laden Murder Country written by a trucker. If you listen close to most of that stuff, you can almost hear the bu-bump bu-bump from the highway through Oklahoma, keeping tempo as he writes those songs.

I told him once that I didn't like the instrumental version of "Into a Tree" because I'd gotten used to it live with the words. He just said, "O.k."

Shawn Cripps, A+ Dude.
Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:36 pm

Yeah Carney, holler when y'all get in. We'll take the kids to the new two-story shake joint.

Posted: Jul 13, 2010 11:39 pm

It might as well be a million, its $15 a head (not my call, nor the hitone's). We'll take donations though, the tour does benefit Haitian relief efforts. Stands + family on the guest list, any other takers?

Aw, carneywe'll gladly donate some cash to get the hatians to some two-story shake joints. Lookin' forward to finally meeting you in person.
Still use your recipe for enchiladas at the house, you know. That one and Martel's link for Red Beans and Rice are the only two recipes from the goner board I ever committed to memory.

Went upstairs and started grabbing records. DC Snipers on Daggerman, Aluminum Knot Eye, Clone Defects, Bum Kon, Karate Party, and Kajun SS.
I'll probably pick something else to listen to outside, though.

I haven't bought any records in almost two months. If I can just make it to August...

Donkey, those are great!

Two and a half hours on the same beer? That's alcohol abuse.

And I'm feeling better now, Wes Mem. Moving on to beer 3.
I'm grabbing the Donkey tracks to make a cd to listen out in the garage. Great mix so far, sir or madam. For now, though, I think I'm going to two fist some beersgrab the laptop, these records and move this hootenany outside. I'm not taking the cat.

Breventeen

True story: The first LP I ever bought with my own money was either Foreigner Double Vision or Michael Jackson Off The Wall, I can't remember. Well, come to think of it, that's not exactly a true story if the event might have had one or another outcome. But I bought a record once.
