The group won a Grammy in 2005 for its song "Before I Forget"; its 2008 album, "All Hope Is Gone," reached No. 1 on the Billboard sales chart.
Had no idea those guys were that successful. I took one look at them a few years back and couldn't be bothered to even listen to them. They just struck me as something you'd file with Gwar in the novelty metal section. They looked like a room full of goons going to a horror convention. I guess it worked for them, the proof is in the payout.
The Spits...now there's a band who are able to somehow pull off the mask thing without seeming utterly campy.
