These girls kicked ass opening up for King Khan & BBQ the other night. The album's pretty damn good too!

Yeah, they're great live and on record. Seeing them open for Lucero Saturday night.

Yup, I was pretty blown away by 'em ... they just might be the ones to make armpit hair sexy!
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 10:54 am

i checked them out (videos) yesterday--seeing that they were on the road with KK&BBQ--and i thought they looked like they could TOTALLY roll it.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:10 am

wow, i didn't hear 'em or see 'em, but the poster made me barf in the street.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:13 am

Their album sounds 10x better after seein' them live too ...
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:16 am

eh, the song samples i listened to weren't nearly as offensive as i'd presumed. like the country tinge.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:36 am

I wouldn't kick 'em outta the sack!

HEE=HAWW!
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:42 am

ok, just out of cursiousity....and this is no way a reflection of their music as i've never heard them and i noticed this with the Hollows, too, WHO I LOVE!! ...but I don't understand why not all members of the band are featured in photos (and some artwork in case of hollows)?
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:46 am

it's only three of them, they were all in the photo's i've seen
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 11:46 am

no, i think there's a dude in that band.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 12:02 pm

Dude drummer...really good live!
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 12:05 pm

no dude drummers c'ept me allowed in the sack.

this aint that kinda party hippy!

HAWW!
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 12:13 pm

haven't seen them for awhile, but it was always just the three,
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 1:10 pm

Bruce, they had a drummer with them on tour. Don't know if he's going to be a permanent member of the band, but here's a picture with all four of them
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 1:34 pm

I'd seen them earlier this week. There was a dude on drums, otherwise it was all XX. I remember liking them, but didn't purchase their record, 'cuz shit was starting to get blurry...
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 1:40 pm

I saw them last sunday and they were really good, but the best part was during the KK and BBQ show when the blonde one kept trying to get this really nerdy guy to dance with her, and goddamn it if he wasn't trying to dance, but the guy just couldn't. I thought it was sweet.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 1:59 pm

Jon Juan, you were at the Triple Rock? I approached KK and offered to buy him a beer and he smelled pretty flatulent, like a spicey black bean dish, didn't want to call him out, but later on in the show I noticed he kept on nonchalantly dusting the undeserving crowd with his psychedelic air biscuits.

W((O))W!!!

please explain to unhip grandpa what does this mean?
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 3:59 pm

The bass player (blonde one) was my roommate for a little while years ago. They were waaaaay better when it was just the three of them. Now they're just another indie rock band with a moustache dude. Total bummer.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 4:18 pm

don't hear that at all.

HA!

I was at the Triple Rock show, and I concur that Those Darlins were really good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Not surprised that KK was flatulent. It's an ethno-gastro thang.
Posted: Dec 3, 2009 6:29 pm

Yeah, it added to the psychedelia of the show, the music would ebb and tide like acid, but there was this constant effluvium of transcendental air-biscuitness that was dusting the crowd. I think it started to get me more fucked up like it wasn't the posi-vibes combined with the three day drunk that I was on. It was KK Farts and the music provided. It was very spiritually uplifting.

I used to play bass for Three-Day Party-Fart ...
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 9:38 am

What Joe said.

Hmmm.... I need to grow a moustache...

my two cents - I thought they were decent band - not mind-blowing or anything... I was annoyed when they would "rock out" or "feel it"... I hate when bands do that - it just sucks & looks fake... just play hard that will be enough.... no need for rock faces & such... that being said, I have not heard the record & had never seen them before that night...

they will probably be huge.

Same here, we were laughing.

Yeah, I was at the triple rock, but I didn't really notice Khans flatulence, however he was making facial expressions as if he was farting up a storm. I went to ask him about picking up a copy of that Tandoori knights ep and he was waaay back behind the merch table and he seemed like he wanted to be left alone. He should have claimed those farts!

everyone's gotta be good at something.
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 12:14 pm

YAY! Those Darlin's were a band who were interesting and original...doing something that no one else (or at least very few )were doing. NOW they changed what they were doing and now they are just another shitty american apparel punk band! Yay! Just what we need, another shitty punk band! woo hoo!
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 12:42 pm

What Joe said and Scott agreed with. Less Vice rock, more cloggin'!
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 1:08 pm

they don't even party
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 1:10 pm

they don't even party

you obviously overlooked this

the blonde one kept trying to get this really nerdy guy to dance with her, and goddamn it if he wasn't trying to dance, but the guy just couldn't.
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 1:36 pm

apparently i missed the boat on Those Darlins v.1 and i'm an idiot for liking them after they added a drummer. Thanks internet!
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 2:15 pm

Thanks internet!

You're welcome!
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 2:22 pm

hey internet, did you see "This Is it," by chance?
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 3:10 pm

I like 'em too, a lot, but then I don't own 8000 LPs or work in a record store so what do I know?
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 4:41 pm

hey internet, did you see "This Is it," by chance?

hhhhmmmm, too many black people for my taste. but, if you want to see a great movie about an amazing all white band that makes it, i suggest "that thing you do" by tom hanks! amazing movie and definitely one of the best ever made.

so what do I know?

by the looks of all the sites you go to, i would say a whole hell of a lot about gay porn.
Posted: Dec 4, 2009 10:02 pm

a whole hell of a lot about gay porn.

if that was true I WOULD work in a record store. My porn tastes run to the MILF or Lady Sonia genres.

in the video i saw, they look like women who can drink, fuck, and fight. rollin, rollin, rollin, rawhide!

Do you hang out with other people who talk this way and, if so, could you ask them to post on here too?
Posted: Dec 5, 2009 12:15 pm

Actually, by "talk", I meant "think"?
Posted: Dec 5, 2009 12:15 pm

And by "think", I meant "type".
Posted: Dec 5, 2009 12:27 pm

nobody talks like me. am i being rude, though? because i don't mean to be. and i don't want to be unfeminine. in fact, i want to be a super female. when i moved to berlin, arish and lil made me stop saying "dude," educating me to be less rock and more roll. twenty-first century pygmalion!
Posted: Dec 5, 2009 12:28 pm

I just like how you obviously don't care what other people think about you. Your opinions are OTT! (Over the top)
Posted: Dec 5, 2009 12:36 pm

am i being unfeminine? is it the word "fuck"? can't say too, huh? argh!
Posted: Dec 5, 2009 1:00 pm

in the video i saw, they look like women who can drink, fuck, and fight.
