Goner Message Board / ???? / Help! Good Video Stores in your area?
Posted: Nov 18, 2009 12:06 pm

So... we're trying to get some ideas for promos on the gonerfest 4 dvd and we're looking for cool video stores, big or small, who might be interested.

Some sorta music focus would be good, too.

Scarecrow Video in Seattle? Kim's Video New York?

Help!

Duh! Clinton St. Video! I've only been there once, but dug the selection of weird fringe shit.

Clinton Street is owned by ex-Sprinkler, Chris Slusarenko, at least it used to be. Dunno if it still is. His brother owns (still?) Jackpot Records. When I used to live over there, I remember talking Chris into stocking JMM videos and he said he liked the Oblivians, etc., so, they for sure would be down I bet. Don't forget that Green Noise is right up the street also.

A second for Movie Madness. Anyone got any opinions on Video Verite on Mississippi?

Eric, what about music stores that stock videos? We have tons of those here.

Green Noise Records - owned by Dirtnap's Ken Cheppaikode

Jackpot Records - owned by the brother of the guy who runs Clinton Street Video

Music Millennium

I don't think Cross Roads carry DVDs, do they? Let me think on some other joints...

Used to love Le Video in San Francisco, but it's been about a dozen years since I've been there.

Also, Lunchbox Records in Charlotte:

Rocket Video in Hollywood on LaBrea is pretty awesome. Johnny Legend's favorite video store. Ton's of classis 60's b-flicks something weird/coffin joe etc. The music section is pretty good, more titles than most places, but nothing too obscure music-wise.
and Vidiots in Santa Monica has a good reputation, but I haven't checked it out personally.
