football season really is my favorite time of the year. it makes those hungover sundays when i can't get off the couch so much more palatable.

good choice, eric!!!

According to most "experts" Drew Breese is probably the third best QB in the NFL . I don't know how you can put him ahead of Rothlisberger and even Eli (I can't believe I just typed that but the dude did win a Championship and had to make some unbelievable plays under unbelievable conditions. ) I wouldn't even put him ahead of Rivers at this point. Maybe number 5.

none of those guys have ever thrown 6 tds in a game.

or thrown over 5000 yards in a season.

these are the facts. the experts are right.

Rich, you are nuts. In my opinion, Brees is the best QB in the NFL in 2009.

How can you put him ahead of Eli and Ben? By watching football games and determining that he's just better. With your eyeballs. Brees is more accurate than both those guys and has a much better deep ball.

You're not automatically a great QB cause you got a ring. Ask Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, and Jeff Hostetler and Jim Plunkett. None of those guys were better than Marino or Dan Fouts. No reason to claim Eli Manning is better than Brees.

Saints are undefeated!!! ( cross your fingers NOLA )
Posted: Sep 15, 2009 11:23 pm
damn..Lions vs. Saints in superbowl can never happen. Titans are from Nashville right..??
Posted: Sep 16, 2009 8:16 am
Tell that to Dan Marino's empty fingers. It's all about field generalship, managing games and winning Championships. Stats are for guys who never win anything.

Its a tired, old debate, but I'll bite.....

Marino won 147 in his NFL career. He ranks 3rd in that department for starting QBs. Of course, he did not win a SB. So, if Jeff Hostetler better than Marino? Is Eli better than Brees? No and no.

Saints rule!

(Sorry Plumley)

What a day of football yesterday! Started off with Jets vs Pats (love this new Jets team-Sanchez and the attacking Ryan defense) then watched Steelers vs Bears (Lots of hard hitting.Cutler looked good) and capped it off with the Giants beating Them Cowboys on opening night at their new monstrosity of a stadium. Giants rule!
Posted: Sep 21, 2009 11:59 am
The Giants stuck around long enough for Romo to give them the game. Romo has to go. If they are lucky, they will make it to the second round of the playoffs. He was making shitty reads all day. Bears looked good, Jets looked good. Saints may be the team to beat.
Posted: Sep 21, 2009 12:23 pm
jets still suck. they are a pathetic organization who play in another team's building in New Jersey. It figures that the guy who constantly takes shots at the Reigning Sound/Greg O would "love" the jets.

By the end of the season, everyone will know the jets suck, yet again. I am happy they beat the Pats, though. The Dolphins will repeat as AFC East Champs. Peyton Manning is in trouble tonight.

Saints won't go nowhere this season. Compilers are like RS fans-losers.
Posted: Sep 22, 2009 10:48 am
Well, The Saints are awesome and Drew Brees is one of the best QB's in it these days.

Our next three games are against New York/New Jersey teams. I can't wait. Your state is going to look like Katrina hit it.

"I'm gonna be drunk for about 30 days, " Fujita said.

Posted: Feb 8, 2010 1:17 pm
Oh yeah, and they owe that game to Brees and Peyton but the kickers, too.. Garrett Hartley made 40+ yard field goals easily and Thomas Morstead made the onsides kick work.

oh, and that 2 pt conversion upside down catch by Lance Moore was insane!

Posted: Feb 8, 2010 1:20 pm
That NYT article is nice.
Posted: Feb 8, 2010 1:21 pm
The Moore catch was sweet.
Posted: Feb 8, 2010 1:23 pm
we did some sweet whiskey shots that fueled the saints comeback. i know they felt our athletic supportage. at least scott fujita did.
Posted: Feb 8, 2010 1:33 pm
No whiskey spell required for snow day. I listened to 50% of the game on AM radio - to keep it real.
Posted: Feb 8, 2010 1:51 pm
sean peyton onside kick genius!

Kinda figured it might come down to coaching...I'll take Payton over Caldwell any day
Posted: Feb 8, 2010 2:14 pm
coulda easily bit him in the ass... but he was IN IT TO WIN IT as they say. 4th & 1 on the goal line, too. Failed, but he wasn't playing it safe.

love it.
