riggler, care to weigh in on this comment?
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 10:30 am

One time, when I was pulling bodies out of WTC no. 2 (I was there), I was thinking about that time I was standing outside of CBGBs, and I saw Lane Bryant walking down the street with a ferret on a leash. I thought, "That's the stupidest shit I've ever seen", and I told him so. Kim Deal was near by, and I said "MY GRANDFATHER SAVED YOUR ASS IN WWII". She gave me some pills and now I work at a record store. We sold some Wavves and Death last week.

you're about to be a dad. you better reconsider your thoughts on homosexual activity.

and for the Gories: 'View From Here'!
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 10:56 am

This whole reunion thing wouldn't look quite so bad if Dirtbombs and Reigning Sounds careers weren't obviously on the decline. It just smacks of desperation. From the bands and the fans. And at least I have a job to help support my family Robin.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 11:02 am

hey now, reigning sound is on the cover of razorcake and i actually saw it at the burrito shop up the street from me. dallasotwn is hip!

have you ever really listened to that song? in headphones???
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 11:46 am

Doing what, "Action Man"? Slinging bullshit records and telling boring stories of yesteryear?
If I were a kid, I'd want to speak to your manager. "Mr. Manager? Tell that lame-o fuckface short old dude to eat a bag of dick. He likes Figures of Light."
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 11:48 am

have you ever really listened to that song? in headphones??

Yeah. I think it might be my favorite Gories tune.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:03 pm

Reigning Sound's got a new record coming out this summer... decline? I think it's cross promotion!

I don't get why it's so awful that they've taken their time to get this new record out.. terrible for a fan like me who wants to hear it - NOW. but as for a career in decline? I don't know of any creative person who doesn't take a zig zag path.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:06 pm

i can't wait for riggler's next zag. shit's gonna be ludicrous!
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:11 pm

It already is.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:13 pm

Reigning Sound just did three shows on the east coast. They were all sold out... Riggler wouldn't seem so jealous and pathetic if his musical career was not the definition of "decline". Now shut up and sell my records.

Now shut up and sell my records.

Ha! We don't sell your records at my store, "Ed." Nice to see you can still handle the criticism though.

pfffft... go complete your bftg collection.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:49 pm

Depriving your customers of quality music on account of your own personal poor taste is unexcusable. Now shut up and go order my records.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:53 pm

And for the record, the last thing in the world I am interested in is leaving my family to go play in a bunch of bars for losers like DCR. If you want to leave your kids to re-enact your past glories, "Ed," so be it. That's your call. I want to be remembered more as a good family man than a middle-aged garage rock king like you.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 12:57 pm

i don't want to be remembered. so far i'm right on course.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:01 pm

i <3 the gomer board.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:05 pm

Ha Ha! Look, so the Action Swingers got back together and no one cared. Stop taking it so hard. As for being a father, My family will be traveling to all the US shows as we have lots of family and friends in each city. The Gories/Oblivians tour ends in Italy where me and my family will vacation for a week with friends. My family is part of everything I do jackass, and the main reason I only do 30-40 shows a year. The really sad thing is, you have no fucking idea what you're talking about. But you just keep talking.

try the spaghetti and meatballs! i bet it's really good.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:09 pm

I didn't care if anybody cared or not "Ed." It was only 1 show. You seem to have a hard time accepting that not everybody wants to be in a band their whole life. And I guess we disagree about what is quality music because I sure as hell don't think yours is. As I told you before Eric and Jack carried you in The Oblivians.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:15 pm

Im gonna bring some snow down to Memphis...cuz it'll probably be hot.

have you ever really listened to that song? in headphones???

ON WEED??????????
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:18 pm

I don't remember you telling me that "rich". But that's your opinion and you have every right to it. I prefer their songs myself. But I'm not a name dropping egomaniac so it doesnt usually come up in conversation. You don't "think" my records are any good but as you've clearly proven, thinking is not your strong suit. I'll do the heavy lifting for you "rich". They're excellent records. Now shut up and go order them.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:18 pm

hahahahahahahahaha! those were some pretty funny lyrics i wrote.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 1:57 pm | Edited by: rich riggler

They are not excellent records "Ed." Only a complete delusional egomaniac/loser would review their own records. And you have a funny way of desperately begging me to carry your non-selling records (do we have to dredge up The Oblivians/Crypt thread again? Alberto said it himself-your records don't sell in NY) and I will never carry them in any store I manage or own. Good day.

Dear Mr. Manager. That hare-lipped, short douchebag told me to buy this totally shitty Dictators 45 called "Who'll Save Rock and Roll", or some stupid shit like that. I didn't realize you were pushing New Age so hard. I think he masturbates behind the counter, by the way.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 2:06 pm

I never told you to buy that record. And I am the manager. Get a job.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 2:08 pm

Dear Mr. Manager,
I bought this "Toe Rag" thing. Can you recomend a hair salon to make my hair look so "Actionable"?
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 2:09 pm

Dictators 45 called "Who'll Save Rock and Roll"

Hey watch it - that's an OK record.

p.s. Billy Joel called and said he wanted "We Didn't Start the Fire" back.

Hey...get off my boy Ned's back!
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 2:46 pm

APRIL FOOL!
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 2:46 pm

June's looking pretty booked right now "Ed." Is this a self-released thing? I haven't heard anything about it. Too bad all the other stores in town will be shut down by then. Hope you bring some copies to sell at the NYC shows. Good luck with it though.

Hey Joe, WAKE UP! Blair has been married to Maureen now for like two years.

But, yes, I was there for the fabulous Maxwell's show, yes. Along with Blair & Maureen and a bunch of folks I know from around Jersey City and Hoboken, and a whole bunch who I didn't know. Great show!
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 5:49 pm

Now I feel bad for "Ed." Forced to put his own record out and trying to use my internet popularity to promote it. Sad. Maybe the Reigning Sound can become like the Grateful Dead and sell out a lot of shows and not make new records. Then I wouldn't have to not order them.
Posted: Apr 1, 2009 6:50 pm

It'll be on "in th red". Is there something wrong with putting out your own records though? "It was only 1 show. You seem to have a hard time accepting that not everybody wants to be in a band their whole life."
Who the fuck are you kidding? I've never seen anyone so desperate to be in a band that anyone gives a shit about. I don't blame you but don't you ever feel a litlle embarassed? All your posts scream "look at me, I was in a band!" "I've met people you think are cool!" "my new super cool imaginary band is gonna be awesome! high five!". OK, your high five thing was funny but... Seriously man, I'm embarassed for you. And thats about all I have to say on this subject.

Hey Joe, WAKE UP! Blair has been married to Maureen now for like two years.

i know, monkey. i knew you would take that the wrong way, but you and blair are the world's biggest reigning sound fans.

btw, the time i saw them at maxwell's i took a puff before they went on and i was seriously blown into space. i'll never get to see the gories. something is seriously wrong here.

"Ed" you should seriously be embarrassed for yourself. And I'm through wasting my time with you. Have a nice life.

you can't make it to the Detroit show??

i know, monkey. i knew you would take that the wrong way

HAHA. No worries. It's just one of those retarded knee jerk responses... Besides, we've all been trying to continue to be friends, but there's a whole world of awkwardness when people make that mistake...

btw, the time i saw them at maxwell's i took a puff before they went on and i was seriously blown into space

That show was one of the best of any band I have ever been to in my life. Amazing energy...

i'll never get to see the gories.

you can't make it to the Detroit show??

I'm driving to the Detroit show. Gas shared 4 ways = CHEAP! You two need to come with me!!! Come on!

the Gories songs where Peg plays drums. If Andre Williams appears in the crowd in Detroit will "Car With The Star" just happen all the sudden?

So Goubler still posts on here at Rich Riggler? Somebody fill me in.
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 9:57 am

Johnny Ramone was right. You should have to retire from Rock N Roll when you're 45 and let the young kids have a chance. Middle-aged rockers look ridiciulous. And the music usually sucks too.
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 10:08 am

and let the young kids have a chance
we gave em a chance, they sucked!
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 10:19 am

I don't recall Johnny retiring at 45 either...I remember him beating the band into the ground to keep making merchandise money. Also because he wasn't a song writer or even a guitar player or the singer, he couldn't have made it in another band anyway. He was still cool thow, but said alot of stupid shit.
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 10:36 am

Why is it any rock musician older than 27 is considered past thier prime? That's stupid...that's based on marketing, because since the 50's record companies have targeted the kids with all the disposable income. It's stupid and outmoded at this point, how many normal kids do you know who still buy music? In blues or country a guy is still in his prime untill he's up into his 60's or 70's. As long as he's been playing all that time, he's considered matured and hardened. That's because those genres existed before the damn babyboomers.
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 10:47 am

Could you provide me with a list of all these great middle-aged Rock N Roll records being made please? I must have missed them.

the wavves guy is like 58 in real life
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 11:06 am

So are your jokes.
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 11:37 am

Anything by Dead Moon for starters.

I mean do I realy have to list them? What state of arrested developement do you have to be in to only want to listen to records by kids.

Why don't we start a new thread: "Kick Ass Records by Middle Agers"
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 11:53 am

No, you don't have to list them. You can just throw an unsubstantiated statement out there without anything to back it up. And you're going to have to do better than listing Fred Cole over and over. Sheesh!
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 12:21 pm

"Rich", this is your cue to go on and on about Monoman and how we would all be listening to polka right now had it not been for him. Actually, decades before he knew what an organ was the seeds of rock'n'roll were being sown by a very "aged" group of black men and equally "old" group of jewish men.

Saying a lot, considering you never go to shows since you became a dad. I think I've seen you out and about without the cutie pie in tow maybe once in the last 4 years. Maybe twice.

I don't see why anyone should stop doing anything when they're 45. You should stop when you loose inspiration like Rich has. Maybe that'll happen when I'm 45 but thats eight years from now. I'll let you know how I'm feeling.
Posted: Apr 2, 2009 6:40 pm

"Rich", this is your cue to go on and on about Monoman
...this related to Mono-men...??? Estrus stuff? or am i all wrong...?

Monoman is the nick name of Jeff from the Lyres. A great band from the 80's who are still playing shows. We're playing with them in Spain next month. Last time we played with them was in New Orleans just weeks before Katrina. Their drummer's wife was admitted to the hospital at the last minute and Bill Peitsch filled in on drums. Last time I ever saw Bill play drums. I feel silly for letting myself get sucked into Rich's baiting. I'm sure he's an OK guy, he just wants some attention. I just come here to talk about bullshit with my friends. Anyway, rock on riggler.

loose inspiration

you mean, like Iggy, who toured all over the world with his original band, featuring Rock Action, and played at least 300 international gigs, to hordes of enraptured crowds, all at age 55+??

what the fuck, age ain't nuthin' but a number. ROCK ON!!!!!

Alberto said it himself-your records don't sell in NY)

uh, i sold plenty of greg's stuff at wowsville and passout.

the stuff sells. always.

ok..I bought some Monomen stuff back in 94..?? listened to it once, put it on a few mix tapes..then decided that I didn't like em. I dont like Delta 72 either. Just sayin. I do like Ritchie Havens tho.

Seen the Live At Goner CD listed for sale this week but decided to pass even though I support all things Goner. "Ed" really is his own worst enemy. (We do carry Oblivians records though since I always considered it Eric's band anyway.)
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 10:44 am

People will buy it somewhere else resulting in lost revenue for your store. "You" are your store's own worst enemy. But, you are a funny little man. Keep talkin'.
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 11:15 am | Edited by: rich riggler

They won't buy it somewhere else cause there's no other stores in town that carry your stuff other than Virgin who are closing in a month. Talk about lost sales. You won't exist in NYC after that. Everybody can thank me later. And I'm saving my store time and money by not ordering your record and then having to return it later after it hasn't sold like with the Earles & Jensen CD. Our customers have excellent taste in music.
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 11:17 am

what store do you run? just so i don't accidently go there...

Must kinda suck to be rounding 50 and have to jockey a cash register.
I mean, you don't own the place, do ya?

"May I help you? We got some great deals on Cramps lunch boxes goin' on right now."
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 12:37 pm

You should put a sticker on your head and sell yourself as an action swingers collectible. Oh wait, there are no action swingers collectors.
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 12:48 pm

Must kinda suck to live in your Mom's basement and keep track of every move a no-talent loser like "Ed" makes.
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 12:50 pm

Oh wait, there are no action swingers collectors.

i am! but i got rid of that one with the red cover. no good. the rest of it rules! who's gonna license "quit while you're ahead" for vinyl release?

Also, there's some loser on Termbo named Vince who buys everything that has to do with me. He even posts pictures of his collection.

Just becuase you failed, doesn't mean everyone else on here did too.
You can make up stuff like me living in my mom's basement, but the sad fact is, I make more money than you, and I'm 27 years old.

It's like your band never existed! (excluding "Vince")

27 is way too old to be still living with your Mommy, Rith. Is she a big Reigning Sound fan too? I guess bad taste in music is hereditary in your family.
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 1:18 pm

Sometimes it makes me sad that you guys like good music because you argue on the level of 12 year olds. Your arguments are pathetic as shit even in terms of internet message board arguments.
Posted: Apr 7, 2009 1:18 pm

You see, it's funny to me becuase what you say about me is make believe.
What I say about you are facts about a man who failed.
If you're married, I feel sorry for your wife when you deposit your $300 paycheck (bi-weekly, of course) into the bank.

If you stop calling Vince a loser and invite him over for dinner, you and him could become real good friends Riggler. This is something you desperately need. Right now Vince is in a place where no one understands him, people who don't like the action swingers or, well for lack of action swingers fans, the action swingers. Reach out Riggler! Reach out!

Sometimes it makes me sad that you guys like good music because you argue on the level of 12 year olds. Your arguments are pathetic as shit even in terms of internet message board arguments.

uuuumm, who cares?

i just offered riggler an all-ages action swingers show at the dallastown, pa american legion. we'll even do a real rong numbers nyc tune and the coke machines will make our debut as well. this will be the punk rockest musical event in history. i might even write a new anti-dirtbombs song.

I think it's cute the way "Ed" and his stalker gang up together. And I got plenty of friends "Ed." Do you know Steve?

Punk Rock USA.

"Ed" I would seriously consider getting a new publicist. We won't be carrying the new Reigning Sound record on In The Red because of Rich Bawls' comments about my wife on this message board. I know you're a jerk too but I didn't think you were this classless. A fish stinks frtom the head up as they say. Good luck finding a store to sell your stuff in NYC! I'm sure Larry will be really glad about this.

Ned, I seriously thought you were divorced, and you are a jerk 90% of the time. You talk so much shit about everyone's bands on here, which they also take offense to, so maybe you deservere a little shit talk.

Not to mention, you already said you weren't going to carry the record.

No worries, the copies your store would have sold will not touch how many I will move with my "publicist" duties.

You talked shit about my mom, and I didn't whine.
Perphaps my mother isn't living anymore.
You are a rude fuck on here, you pester every comment I make on here.
You should have seen it coming.

No offense to your wife, literally, I'm suprised you're married.
YOU are the ass, not your wife.

and I'm sure you RUN NEW YORK.
gimme a break.

Do as you please action man. Larry could care less. I could care less.
Posted: Apr 8, 2009 9:55 pm

You won't exist in NYC after that. Everybody can thank me later.

We've found the new Morris Levy!!!! LOL, go blackball that label, loser! Too funny, the one man record-crushing operation! Funniest Goner post ever. Too much time in the basement....

Lets all swing into action and call rich diggies stores owner and ask why he wont order records people have asked for(for which some of you should do). Then he will get fired, lose his internet privaleges and daily task of attempting to be witty on Goner, his family will starve and die(because no one wants a middle aged record clerk or manager these days) in the upcoming 2012 apocalypse there by ending his line of DNA.
Let us all clap and dance at the thought of another dead never-was and couldn't have been. Let the peanut gallery retort begin....think hard, think long, act like you didn't and blow smoke rings out of your ass

your wife is so hairy she looks like a chia pet with a sweater on
your wife is so stupid, I told her to buy a color TV, she came back and said "what color?"

who do I have to blow around here to get you to act like a 6 year old who was picked last for red rover?

I imagine this scene. After a hard days work of blocking the passage of Greg O records into that wonderful land of NYC,Diggie comes home only to find her humming an Oblivians tune then in an instant he comes puddging down to write something "clever" and "witty" or as some one on another thread said was a good "come back"
Or lets take this tangent. maybe he has blocked oblivian records from young paws for years and lets see...since then NYC has produced how many awesome records...none. Your killing the "scene" man and for that I applaude you. New York is shit that needs to be wiped away like a turd from Gods ass.
I hear old man gears turning inside a head.

re: rich riggler not carrying the new RS record at his shop in NYC. Greg, if you guys come play Dallas, I will personally buy as many CDs or LPs as he would have sold there. (I know he claims it would have been zero, but I will use good faith and say it\'s a good deal more than that.)
Posted: Apr 29, 2009 4:10 pm

Attention NYC RS fans-scratch the NJ idea. You will now be rerouted to Dallas. Thank you..
