Goner Message Board / ???? / Looney Tunes Favorite/Least Favorite
Posted: Mar 28, 2009 4:11 pm

I've been reliving my love of Bugs and company recently on YouTube and happened to catch that recent Chuck Jones biopic on AMC to further spark my interest. This morning we went to try a new brunch place only to find that one of their draws is non-stop Looney Tunes on a big screen! Needless to say, I couldn't keep up with any conversation and my girlfriend and my sister had to practically drag me out of there.

I remember back to growing up in the late 80s when this stuff was on in four-hour blocks on Saturdays and always after school. Although I think there's nothing like it now, I do remember having some definite favorites and absolute channel changers when I was young. Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam were always a treat to watch, undeniable. Sylvester and Tweety always turned me off though. I don't know if this is weird to say about Looney Tunes, but I think it was just because there was too much speech impediment going on in that one. Plus the amount of time Tweety spent inside Sylvester's mouth. Gross.

Tazmanian Devil conquers all! Plus that weasel that tried to gnaw off Foghorn's leg.

Roadrunner FOR SURE.

The Bugs vs. Elmer when Bugs eyes were drawn all super slanty were classic too.

Poor kids of today getting denied; didn't some idiots come out years back and start getting them banned from TV due to "violence"?

anyone where daffy commits suicide or any other act they don't broadcast anymore.

My current favorite is "Bosko The Doughboy" (1931). It blew me away the first time I saw it (2 months ago) and I'll put it up against anything else the studio produced for sheer number of laughs. Least Favorite ? Anything with a Bill Lava score, esp. those Daffy vs. Speedy ones.

Carl Stalling really duplicated the theme for the mind of a 5 year old in that Looney Tunes intro.

One of my favourites was "Robin Hood Daffy". Instant laugh riot, even after seeing it hundreds of times.

"the three little bops"

Totally! I was going to say Dough for the Do Do. I used to watch Late Night Black and White religiously--shame they took it off. I've seen some really awesome ones and some rather unfortunate bad ones too. Just baaad. There are some MM cartoons that are just totally insane. I tend to like the ones with characatures of old movie stars.

Dislike: Tweety Bird
