Goner Message Board / ???? / JACK STANDS ! HELP!
Posted: Mar 10, 2009 12:38 am

I have successfully contracted a malware virus that makes my windows program look like something from 1982.

I keep getting an error message that says "svchost.exe".

It pops up every 5 seconds. I've run several clean up things and deleted the program after a search but no dice. Desktop still looks the same...

PLEASE HELP!

Does not look like xp anymore....

Did you have anti-virus? Is it too late to download this?

don't bother with the free avg. seriously. it just slows down your system to show you its scanning and does absolutely nothing.

$60 for fucking Norton AntiVirus just gets you a load of pop ups telling you you are "protected" against shit. Doesn't seem to actually REMOVE anything, though.

Yeah, we were running Norton on machines at my last job, and I found it annoying and at times, ineffectual. In reaction to that, I bought MacAfee for my home computer, and it's been smooth and incident-free. Maybe I got lucky?

dtrain, sorry, can't help ya....

Best costume ever: in 1982 fellow classmate in my 6th grade class went to the school's Halloween party as a bottle of Tylenol!

Your answer

Yes! That year my uncle Dennis dressed up as an extra-strength tylenol. He wore a red shirt and white pants/shoes. No one could guess what he was - all he would say was that he was "a killer"

I was in second grade and could comprehend the genius of the costume. Of course at the same party another uncle nearly drowned bobbing for apples. Memorable Halloween.

Just got the computer back from the fix it place.
Took a week.
This virus is no joke. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY VIDEO CODECS!

It disabled all connections. My "windows" still doesn't look the same.
Dude said they removed 8 viruses.
Took 'em 3 days to find 'em and these guys are hardcore.

my firefox still looks very old even after installing the new version...

any ideas? Default settings?

Thanks!

We had everyone in dad's family over for a huge halloween party. It was the year they did the haunted house and had a "mad scientist" lab where they put their hands in bowls of peeled grapes, cauliflower etc, to replicate body parts. Vernon was bobbing for apples and started choking. It was when we lived on Queensgate near the Godwins. 2nd grade for me at Oakhaven Elem.

The house where we had the huge magnolia tree in the backyard and found all the crayons buried in the dirt under the tree. Also the house where you "adopted" a turtle, then lost it and we never found it again, even when we moved out
