what with "Hallelujah" getting a remix and play on the mini speakers in Starbucks I read the paper and drink the drip. That low tone poet is still on the scene. '67 and '68 and we listened closely to "Songs of and "Songs From A Room". Twenty years later and "I'm Your Man"

a real inspiration

Leonard Cohen do not play no rock 'n' roll.

he's been meditating on a mountain top for 15 years
his voice should be spunky

So they just added an Atlanta date to the tour, at the Fox.

Tickets $50 - $250

People who went: Worth it?

Definitely - his voice was wonderful, the song selection was mostly excellent, and he was gracious and awesome. Go!

Definitely - his voice was wonderful, This is true.

the song selection was mostly excellent, The big caveat being if like/are familiar with his 80s-90s output.

he was gracious and awesome. Also true.

The big bummer is this goofball woodwinds player he has with him. If you can stomach/ignore an early-30s dude in a vest and driving cap really getting down with his various flutes and things, it's no big deal.

He played a lot of hits (Joan of Arc, Famous Blue Raincoat, Suzanne, etc.), but being someone who's more into his first couple of records, I was a bit disappointed by song selection. That said, I know his later stuff pretty well and don't hate it, it's just not may favorite. But his voice/performance was pretty amazing... for a dude in his 70s, he's a great presence on stage. I'd say totally worth it if you don't mind late-period Cohen.

how will my 70 year old parents like this show? we're getting them tickets for their 40th wedding anniversary and i'm pretty sure they've never heard of him.

Waching the London concert on PBA right now, totally bad ass!

Those back-up singers are blowing my mind!

Exactly. That guy really got me. I knew it was coming and it both cracked me up and hurt at the same time.

I'm hoping for my sake that Leonard at least changes the between song banter. It was the exact same thing from show to show -- I was able to see him both in Maryland and NYC. It was not bad by all means, just more of a "performance", I guess.

Not knowing your parents, it's hard to tell. Go check out the youtube stuff from this last tour and you'll see what the show (at least the first leg) is about.

I don't think this dude was at the show I went to. Thankfully.

I bet they'll dig a guy older than them singing lines like, "If you want a lover I'll do anything you ask me to." Sounds like a great anniversary gift to me!
