All Star Cast, Beautiful Women, 80's nostalgia, one of James Browns last performances, great physical comedy and slapstick genius of Dan Akyroid in his prime & top of his game, the character of Dr. Detroit is something only a comic genius like dan could have pulled off, I mean that voice & everything, lol. You got Doctor Johnny Fever of WKRP Cincinnati acclaim (Howard Hessman playing a pimp in an exciting romp about a nerdy Greek scholar leading a double life as a celebrated king pimp at the Detroit players ball, now 'c'mon, that is just plain outrageous, the theme is a little reminiscent of the "nutty professor," style routine, "2 personalities," very entertaining and hard for an actor to pull off, even in the comedic, gendre. The girls #Young Lynn Whitfield, before she was a big office draw, but simply gorgeous, as well as Fran Dresher (the nanny when she was just starting out, also drop dead gorgeous Lydia Lee & Donna Dixon who Dan winds up marrying in real life a short time after the movie was made, so you know their was alot of chemistry & vibes on the set and that energy is passed on to the audience in the movie. What could be cooler in the mid 80's then to have Akron Ohio's Devo, kick start the soundtract and then have the Godfather to close it out! Man this movie is litttt dude, and it is timeless, got a spot for it not far from the Blues Brothers, like somebody elese said, what's not to like, now living it....in case that's not a typo is another thing entirely, cause...u know pimpin' just ain't easy cuz, you know it's hard out here for a pimp, lol, just playin'...the Doctor is out!
