Magnolia...isn't that the name of it where he plays that crazy evangelist?
(Can't stand Tom Cruise)

Surrogate Father Figure Issues, check!

He was pretty good in Tropic Thunder.

Well, he wasn't exactly an evangelist in Magnolia, but yeah, depending on my mood, my favorite Tom Cruise movie could be:

Top Gun

Mostly Top Gun, though

He was pretty good in Tropic Thunder.
This is true. I have always avoided any movie with him in it, just because I think he's kinda creepy. He jumped up a few notches in my book for Tropic Thunder though.

the kubric one with the titties.

jerry maguire - because he played a loser through most of it

... and gag to a teenage (?) tom cruise sliding into frame in his underwear & socks in Risky Business
Posted: Nov 28, 2008 12:35 pm
just watched "Losin't It!" last weekend...a teenage Tom loses his virginity to Shelly Long in Tijuana!
Posted: Nov 28, 2008 2:54 pm

That movie is fucking garbage.
Posted: Nov 28, 2008 3:56 pm
Rain Man

Also, The Outsiders. Cruise is hardly in it, so he can't stink it up for Pony Boy and the rest of the Greasers.

the one where he gets decapitated by muslim terrorists

I don't think it's out yet
Posted: Nov 28, 2008 8:12 pm
Cock Tail...get it? Cuz he's gay!!
Posted: Nov 28, 2008 9:33 pm
Is Jack Stands dead or something? You'd think he'd be all up in this thread.
Posted: Nov 28, 2008 10:17 pm
I saw Tropic Thunder the other night and was pretty underwhelmed. The Cruise bits were some of the better moments.

But really, for all the good press this got I thought it'd be better. Sadly, it was all too often a typical Ben Stiller vehicle.....blah.

I liked 'Born on the 4th of July' back in middle school.
Posted: Nov 29, 2008 1:14 am
he's really short in real life.
Posted: Nov 29, 2008 8:27 am
Cocktail and Top Gun are torture. Risky Business, 4th of July, Outsiders, Rain Man, uh...the end of A Few Good Men was good, but that was because of Jack.

I prefer Rain Man. He reminds me of Joe's momma. La carne de burro no es transparente.
Posted: Nov 29, 2008 11:28 am

You're a fucking retard.

Is this a trick question? I guess I would pick any movie where he doesn't run manically for no reason at all to no destination at all. Is there such a movie?

saw the trailer for the latest

i like the one where he plays a cocky young upstart who plays by his own rules. he appears to thumb his nose at the wisdom of an older friend/mentor (because he's a rebel), but he's smart enough to pay heed when it really counts. he also seems perilously close to forsaking the love of a beautiful woman (because he's gay), but focus groups have shown that's no way to end a movie.

Harry Hogge: All right. While we're still under a caution, I want you to go back out on that track and hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle: Hit the pace car?
Harry Hogge: Hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle: What for?
Harry Hogge: Because you've hit every other goddamned thing out there, I want you to be perfect.

It's no Stroker Ace, but it's no Driven. Also, wasn't Dick Trickle's cousin named Cole? No, his nephew was named Chris and he was murdered in 1998 but I can see how you'd be confused.
