Goner Message Board / ???? / Judas Priest - Nostradamus

I can't believe how much this rules. All the best bits of Priest, blistering Downing/Tipton solos, Point of Entry-era guitar synth, Stained Class-era prog weirdness, Screaming-era rock assault, some of Halford's best vocals ever and with a goddamn string section too. The sheer hugeness of it is mindblowing.

Plus, how much balls does it take to make a nearly two hour concept doub;le album in this day and age?

The lyrics are the usual silliness, and there's the usual gay ballad that kinds of slows everything down, but that's typical Priest for you.

I guess it does help that they're my favorite band ever though.

The Rockola at the bah kept advertising that it had the new single. I'll play "Locked In" in your honour tonight.

It got panned on allmusic, but what do they know.

Although, Hollywood Steve was the reviewer for Ram It Down.

Screw Allmusic. I read that review, they said it was dated and excessive. That's precisely why I like it. If this had come out in '82 they'd be gushing about it.
