All you need is cash.

There's no way Lionel's getting an equal share. He realized he could make more money getting 33% or 50% as a Commodore than 100% of a Lionel Richie tour.

Yeah, but who the fuck wants to see Lionel Ritchie in 2008? You think people are going to shell out 75 bucks to hear the theme from White Nights?

When I was living with my parents after Katrina, Lionel Ritchie came to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. My mom loves Lionel, but the cheapest tickets were $150. We didn't get tix, but that shit sold out!

So, yeah, apparently LOTS of people are willing to shell out $150 to see Lionel. I saw him at Jazzfest a few years ago. He played ALL the hits and Ray Nagin was dancing at the side of the stage the whole time. Oh, what a feeling!

I saw him solo recently on TV and well, it was pretty fantastic. I saw him at the time (1983--Mid South Coliseum with Tina Turner opening) and it was Snoresville. I think he is better with age...and if they get those dudes in costume, I might pony up to see that.
