Kenny Loggins > Caddyshack > Footloose > Top Gun

just sayin.

I'd put Kenny Loggins between Caddyshack and Footloose.

And Airplane before Kenny Loggins.

I know where you're coming from, and I'm up in the game, but...
Danger Zone is far greater than Footloose, and as concepts go (say what you will about Maverick), Top Gun is Greater than Kevin Bacon when comparing roles. Additionally, I don't think you can look at the Loggins this simply without the theme from Over the Top.
I expect to review this fully at our next DJ gig at Po' Folks.

Really ANY variation would work. I just felt like a dialogue NEEDED to be had.

I am ashamed to say that I've never seen Over the Top nor did I know KL did a song for it.

The song, "Meet Me Halfway" highlighted the trials and tribulations of Sly Stalone's pursuit in the underground arm-wrestling and the fight to win over his son's heart. Lifetime will not air it, because of sexism against single dads.

no way. why did I have it my head that Meet me Halfway was from Top Gun too. DangerZone-Across the Sky. jeez the guy OWNS the Sky.

The song, "Meet Me Halfway"

... hammered the last nail into the coffin of Kenny Loggins soundtrack career. Can't wait for Yacht Rock to tackle this one.

The track that really gets you going in Over the Top is "Winner Takes it All" by Sammy Hagar. It out-Survivors Survivor.

THanks to my pal Julia who blogs about these things, I have to post a few that are worse:

Tina Turner "We Don't Need Another Hero." Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

"Who's Johnny?" Short Circuit -El De Barge

It gets even worser:

"Romancing the STone" Eddy Grant

And, worst of them all: the "Top Gun Anthem" by Harold Faltermeyer is the official theme song of Top Gun, and it's horrible.

I would argue that "Axel F" from Beverly Hills Cop is the worst thing ever created. Again, Harold Faltermeyer.

who is apparently Satan.
he won Grammies for both

That's crazy, but it's true. But it's the best that you can do. The best that you can do. The best that you can do

Up the ante to Frank Stallone's "Far From Over" from Staying Alive.

"Romancing The Stone" song gets off on the technicality that it is not on the film.

You're right! I love Caddyshack! Especially the scene where Johnny Ramone pokes Ms. Togar in the asscrack with his guitar.

I don't think you can look at the Loggins this simply without the theme from Over the Top.

Now, technically the official theme from Over The Top was "Winner Takes It All" as performed by Sammy Hagar with Eddie Van Halen.
Get your facts straight, hippy.

O.K., I'm going to have to re-think some things.
Whereas "Danger Zone" is accepted by a majority as the Top Gun theme song (because it fucking ROCKS), the actual Theme song was the "The Theme From Top Gun", featuring the dude that played for Billy Idol, composed by Harold Faltemyer, of eric o's "Axel F" theme.
The above soundtrack is virtually flawless.
However, Over the Top arguments go out the window when you consider that Kenny Loggins > Sammy Haggar; they may seem similar, in that both of their names have double consonants in their names, but clearly Kenny is the winner here. Yet, indeed, we have a suckfest rocker beating out tried n' true movie song closer by douchebaggery. I will concede:
Meet Me Halfway < Winner Takes It All
