Other than Behind the Chair, are there any other sites that aren't shitty spam links with the same tired pictures of women from 10 years again wearing the Rachel? Shoulder-ish length or longer. My brain is fried and I'm uninspired. Thx.

That's pretty much my 4th grade picture, only with a little more crimping.

I watched so many Pre Code movies i n tne last year and got a true early 30s bob recently. Longer in the front shorter in the back. It is surprisingly versatile and cute.

i always just revert to my same boring ole heroins from the 60s and 70s and just go from there. ya gotta pick your fave kinda hero gal and take it from there. there are so many after that. the jane birkin, anita pallenberg, marianne faithful, the rosemary's baby, jane fonda (althgough all of these are played out), patti smiths sister, all the manson family girls, susan in the partridge family.
they all had good hair back then. but ya gotta pick what you love.
i love that bob but my face is too round. i end up looking like a big pumpkin face
i want a gigantic perm. like huge and crazy...

I had the Jean Seberg through most of college. The only really good haircuts I've had in the last 8 years were Brigitte Bardot and Mary Tyler Moore. I had a Hanoi Jane that people seemed to like, but it wasn't really me. Hand to god, I was looking at one of those hair sites and plugged in requirements, and it returned with this.

Ah rumple, you should know that Wizard of Oz ain't no Precode; mine is more along the lines of this:

http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/j/Norma%20Shearer.jpg

But likely shorter in the back and curlier.

I love the Jean Seberg; I had that all through latter high school and college too. No more, too addicted to curls.

i want a gigantic perm. like huge and crazy...

I wanted this for awhile too; do it before you go all Emmylou Harris-head like me.

My hair is really wavy, so this is what it looks like right now. I can't get it to do nothin'.

FYI - that picture that doesn't work up there should be Betty White.
Posted: Mar 14, 2008 9:05 am

Mine was that way too when I let it get way too long--just a wave here and there and a bunch of frizz and somewhere in there was my face.

I had to find someone who knew how to cut hair to sorta treat it like topiary.

Then I finally gave up the long hair dream and tried this 30's bob and it is perfect; maybe not your style but I really love it.

I would suggest finding someone you know is a great stylist and have them make suggestions for your face and hair type and follow their lead; don't try to do more trendy hair. So many girls have that Brooklyn 'do these days that everyone looks like an Urban Outfitters catalog out there. Time for a change!

Well, I got this big ole tattoo on my neck, so shorter hair is out while I'm job hunting, anyway.

I go to a gal in So. Indiana who is relatively inexpensive and doesn't try to go too trendy. Maybe I'll just tell her to do whatever the fuck she wants. I had a good lady here in town but I just couldn't afford it any more, plus she gave me a, what she called, "misfit cut." I've found that everything here is either lame upper crust trophy wife hair, or Hair Police hipster shit.

WHA!?!?!?!

What is that? "Misfit" as in the band or misfit in our poor tortured youth of today? OH help us.

jane fonda (althgough all of these are played out)

I ust want to steal this entire esthetic:
http://www.owensvalleyhistory.com/cowgirls17/jane_fonda2.jpg

My hair is stick straight and baby fine, so Jane Birkin or Urbn catalog is about all I can ever pull off. Keep those 'texturizer' stylist bitches awaaaayyy from me! Shag no mas! That 'view from here' pic has got me wanting to go back to the hot rollers of my youth...

I'm also dying to hear about the 'misfit' cut.

I don't even know how to describe it. I mean, it turned out looking okay, but I guess it was some technique involving layers and cutting lots of little unextreme devil locks. She just seemed way too enthused, and I'm easily swayed. I miss my big fat flamer stylist from when I was in college.

Here's a precode gal that has a killer 'do- http://www.ideofact.com/archives/Lulu2.jpg Heathurr has something similar but a little longer

funny you ladies are bringing up jane fonda. i just watched coming home for the first time. and i was loving her style early 70's preppy military wife slowly evolving into anti war bohemian. i loved the style comb, and was thinking of stealing it. but nursing school is making me too tired for fashion, its ugly scrubs for me.
i got a new haircut too..just shorter and wavier...bigger bangs...cute....i needed it. was getting too long.
Posted: Mar 14, 2008 11:07 am | Edited by: Razor A Go Go

Wavier? How long is it? Pictures? I don't want a full bang. Had them for eons and do not want to fuck with them again for a while, unless they're thinner/side-swept.

Coming home! Love that movie. My mom took me when I was waaaaay too young to be seeing any hot wheelchair sex!

That is dreamy, but impossible for a girl with my texture, sweetie. Here is another great precode look:

Seriously--these ladies were amazing.

This actress below is hilarious:

love mary and rhoda! hot damn! and my hair could never do those ole baeuty styles. i wish though.
unfortunately i have the long hair with bangs but i've had it for so many years i can't even think. and now, yes, i look like a fucking 18 year old hipster. disgusting.
before that i had the patti smith kinda hair mixed with elf hair from dark crystal that also became hipster.
i don't do anything to my hair and it looks like every chick on the planet. eewww...
this is why i still wanna perm it the hell out. totally at a loss. i think i need a complete turn around but i don't even have a stylist anymore and its too pricey to just wing it out here.
i always suggest taking in lots of pics of things you like and having stylist help you find something in the middle that goes with your face and style.

Did you hear that "Joe" from Rhoda died last month? Another piece of my childhood gone.

NUMERO UNO is fantastic. Number two is sorta too messy for me, but hey, it is your haircut!

NUMERO UNO is fantastic.

That's pretty much exactly what I've been trying to go for lately, esp the bangs. If I could only figger out how to get those twisty curls.......and get 'em to stay all day....?

No kidding. I've gotten mine to do that, maybe once, without lookin' all southern rock on me. My stylist can do it, but even when I buy the shit she uses on me, no luck. And a diffuser? Fuggaedaboudit.
Posted: Mar 14, 2008 11:09 pm

I get those somewhat naturally, but you can do the following to help:

Use Bumble and Bumble curl cream on wet hair; emulsify it well and coat your hair with it.

USE A DIFFUSER. Seriously. If you don't wanna do it forever, just do it for a bit while you are hanging your head back into the cup of the diffuser. Gently sorta bounce the curls inside the cup of the diffuser.

When you are sorta bored with the diffuser, take a few of the more obvious curls and even the ones that are trying to curl and make pin curls. Walk around, drink coffee and eat a banana or yougurt. Watch the news. Then slowly remove the bobby pins letting the pin curl loose.

I think Laurel is also a stylist and might have some suggestions. Davines curl creme and anti frizz works well also.

Hair products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bumble and Bumble has been oh so trustworthy forever.
I've also loved these products for a long time. The curly/waivy haired girls love the Lavender hair cream...Beach Hair smells ridiculously sexy.

I wear a wig.

Shoot, I gave up on my damn diffuser ages ago.

Got a new haircut, new glasses, and a new baseball bat today. Good day!

However, my pedicure was pretty fucking lousy. From now on, I will only go to the specifically nail places. These tootsies simply will not do for spring break.

I own both of these crazy good products but THE BEST K-M potion? BEDROOM HAIR. Does the trick and smells amazing.

However, my pedicure was pretty fucking lousy.

I hate when that happens. The last one I had was just awful: The "spa" was a crowded hellhole with no ambiance and the witch pulled out some crazy aerosol can at the end and I had to practically knock it out of her mitts. Fucking tacky Florida.
