The Wonder Years probably never will be on DVD because they no longer have the rights to all the '60s music they used in the show.

The '66 Batman movie is on DVD, ya big dummy. Gay! Er, Bray!

I'm still waiting for NIGHT OF THE CREEPS.
Posted: Jan 16, 2008 3:26 pm

so is the Sadist

The Wonder Years shouldn't have existed at all
Posted: Jan 16, 2008 3:29 pm

That shit was awesome - cartoon Saturday was terrible at the time, so it seemed even cooler than it was (I taped some episodes, should find 'em again). His Fritz the Cat movie was bad enough to make Crumb kill off the character, though. Ha, haha, moooooo!

the batman movie is available. the tv show is not.

only the 1st season of wkrp in cincinnati is available. again because of music rights.

and it's a crime the full series of the larry sanders show is not on dvd.

i'm pretty sure that batman collection is not officially licensed. otherwise, it would be available on amazon, etc.
Posted: Jan 16, 2008 3:52 pm

so "not out" means "officially licensed"?

whatever you say, lars

using your criteria, is there *anything* that's not on dvd somewhere? your link is to a bootleg set.

might as well say "bucket list" is on dvd since i can get it in chinatown.

Wonder Years was on ion TV there for a while. I think it was in Drew Carey's current slot. I'm pretty sure I got a good enough dose to last me a while. That Winnie is smokin' hot, but I can't bear watching more than a minute or two, while some good show is on commercial break...
Posted: Jan 16, 2008 4:15 pm

That Winnie is smokin' hot,

'specially when she was 11!

KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park, which is surprising since those dinks obviously have no shame when it comes to taking every opportunity to make a buck.

Look at all those great TV shows that arent on DVD. Instead they go out and put all those bullshit 1980's and 90's shows out. Where the hell is Shindig?

Also both The T.A.M.I Show and The Big TNT Show are not on DVD.

Another amazing performance from Harry Dean Stanton.
The best one I saw recently was his appearance on Two and a Half Men, along with Elvis Costello and Sean Penn. Best TV episode in recent memory.

COMBAT is partially available on DVD, but I have most episodes on VHS due to the EAction channel running them sequentially a few years ago- my favorite show as a 3rd grader- HD Stanton was in one episode early on, as were many character actors of the period. Good stuff.
Posted: Jan 22, 2008 6:29 am

Shit,where do i start?

The Goodies
Rat Patrol
Fat Albert
Baretta
(i mean how are we supposed to care about
Robert Blake in the first place if we don't know what he's famous for?
None of his "Little Rascals" stuff is out either,if i'm not mistaken)
The Inavders
New Wave Theatre
(though i heard there might be something coming out eventually)

Just off the top of my head. There are many more i'm spacing on right now...

Although there were episodes released on DVD via Rhino, there is still no definitive version of Get A Life available.
Posted: Jan 22, 2008 9:19 am

I forgot to metion Get A Life on my list! Was gonna list it but it was one of the ones that got spaced for some reason. Dammit.

Does anyone know if The Prisoner ever got released on DVD? Another one that ecscaped my initial list.
Posted: Jan 22, 2008 4:01 pm

The Prisoner

A&E finally released a nice box with all 17 episodes. I got it for my girl for Xmas last year. 70 bucks, if I remember correctly. Be seeing you!

An insane # of great precode films, such as Ann Vickers. I saw that on TCM recently--Abortion, Premarital Sex, babies out of wedlock, women's prisons, lynchings and the forever foxy Irene Dunne.
