Goner Message Board / ???? / Worst Movies You Saw This Year (old or new)
Posted: Dec 25, 2007 5:18 pm

I'm sure there's a whole lot more, but these two stick out as movies I really hated.

VACANCY
Anybody else see this turd? I was able to laugh at it a lot with is more than I can say for...

CONTROL
I wanted to leave the theater so many times, but then thought it might be satisfying to watch that sad sack kill himself.

EASTERN PROMISES
Mentioned why I hated it in the thread about the movie already.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. DON'T EVEN ASK WHY WE SAW IT.

I can safely say that "The Great Debaters" will not only be the worst movie of the year, but will give "St. Elmos Fire" a run for its money for being the worst movie ever made.

It wasn't new this year but I did watch The Core on Google video during one long night of boredom. Any Oscars or other awards shit that Hillary Swank has received should be revoked due to her appearance in that film.

"The Great Debaters"

Soundtrack sounds like it might be decent (Alvin Youngblood Hart playing string band music, Sharon Jones, etc.), but other than that sounds atrocious.

BEOWULF

Pretty damn stupid, I thought ...

STARDUST

Never been so happy in my life to hear a fire alarm pulled in peabody Place!

Birth of a Nation.

Please, I, Robot kicks the shit out of this piece of shit.

just snuck in THE HOLIDAY. wow.
Posted: Dec 26, 2007 8:18 am

Rush Hour 3. Uggh! There is some Serge Gainsbourg in the soundtrack, however.

I loved the Holiday, seen it twice now. Total sucker for lame-ass romantic pap, though. Watched the Lake House on the same night recently, that was pretty bad.

Birth of a Nation.

Aaron McGruder (Boondocks) and some other dudes made a screenplay for a movie with this title but pussed out. They released it as kind of a comic book/storyboard. It's about East St. Louis seceding after the 2000 presidential election. It would probably be a good movie, done right.

Boondock Saints was better when I saw it in 2006. Just watched it again and it's kinda dumb.

simpsons
the bee movie
night at the museum

fucking kid!!!!

there was a made for tv version of the poseiden adventure shown on TNT one afternoon (not as if org and H'wood re makes were not excrementally laden and laughably base) that was easily the worst movie i have ever seen. and that includes the farrelly brothers.

Simpsons movie wasn't bad, first half hour was like an episode during the glory years. Got sorta tiring after that, but there were a lot more movies way worse than that one. Plus, Spider Pig.

Balls of Fury. Not a single laff in that junker.
Posted: Dec 26, 2007 8:04 pm

Monsters of Cock 5

I didn't like looking at the crackhead homeless black guy's arm sized rod but, it was funny to see his beetlejuice like teeth.

Too bad. I really want to see that movie.

night at the museum

Not even a good kids' movie. My girlfriend values few things more than going to the cinema & she was ready to walk out. Brutal.

Babel. How'n the fuck this movie got nominated for anything except Razzies will always be a mystery.

It wasn't new this year but I did watch The Core on Google video during one long night of boredom. Any Oscars or other awards shit that Hillary Swank has received should be revoked due to her appearance in that film.

She totally sucks as an actress, plus, I swear she has a moustache.

I can safely say that "The Great Debaters" will not only be the worst movie of the year, but will give "St. Elmos Fire" a run for its money for being the worst movie ever made.

THAT is fukkin' funny. Sorry you had to sit through it. Worth it to me for the good post, so thanks for the sacrifice.

Perfume. A fag french story about a fag with no smell on his body who makes great perfume by killing women who smell good. The movie opened with darkness and slowly emerging from the shadows a nose, poised to sniff. Just terrible.

Those dicks are rubber aren't they?

hell no...and further, have you ever seen a dude roll the condom all the way down then have a unsheathed length of equal size? dude had a 3rd leg.
Posted: Dec 27, 2007 7:04 pm

Seriously? SERIOUSLY!?!?! I've been convinced those dudes are just holding up rubber dildos and tucking their shit between their legs? They don't really cum in gallons like that do they? My mind is beyond blown.

Is there something porn stars do to increase their production of spoodge?

Bad Timing, Theresa Russell movie, proving that not EVERYTHING on the Criterion collection is good.
Posted: Dec 28, 2007 12:07 am

really? i enjoyed bad timing quite a bit - great cinematography and i thought garfunkel was pretty good.

They also did the Michael Bay movies, but I believe they went out of print quickly. C'est la vie. That said, I'd like to see anyone show me a DVD imprint that can go toe-to-toe with Criterion.

The Morning After... With Hanoi Jane and Jeff Bridges.... On X-mas.. WORST PILE OF SHIT EVER!!!

No Country For Old Men....Great 3/4 of a movie...It's like the Cohen Bros. let Martel the Valet attendant finish the script/film...total let down in the end. The beginning and first 3/4 was awesome but, I wanted to break things when it was over and left me feeling like I got ripped off and I saw it free.

Agreed. Film was far from "best of the year". But I liked Eastern Promises and that had some serious hokeyness in it, so go figure.

I will eat my hat if I turncoat my original opinion on Zodiac. That movie went south when cheap jokeyness was inserted during what should have been an absolutely terrifying scene (the kids at the lake) and then as soon as Robert Downey Jr wasn't going to be waltzing in to keep saving scenes, it was kaput. LOUSY!

I know there is a whole thread devoted to this movie, but I'll say that at first I felt the same way Arm did after seeing it....

However, I got the book for Christmas from my fiance and just finished it last night. The movie seems to keep right in line with the book. Now I'm excited to watch it again!

My least favorite movie?

It has to be TRANSFORMERS!!!

BOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Could force myself to see the Transformers

gotta disagree on this one...I think its a great movie and Garfunkel rules in it!

Garfunkel rules

you gotta be kidding me. totally UN believable.

she was hot, kinda.

Worst movie I saw this past year that everyone seems to think is so great...
Hot Fuzz aka Police Academy 9
Posted: Jan 4, 2008 7:45 pm

The Amatuers. Fuckin' sucked. I'd bitch about how bad it sucked some more, but i gotta get back to work.

Hot Fuzz aka Police Academy 9

I wasn't so hot on this one either. I saw a lot of bad movies in 2007.

Did anyone see that Dewey Cox movie?

Posted: Jan 5, 2008 7:15 am

i am with joe on balls of fury being pretty fucking stupid. i finally saw it a couple of nights ago and it was pretty much a total turd.

hot fuzz was only partially funny and mostly because i was completely shitfaced when i went to go see it. i thought it dragged on entirely too long too.

Spider pig, spider pig, doing whatever it is spider pig does. Hilarious!

my mama and I just watched the Savages -- luckily, at home on DVD instead of in the theatres. she was like, "holy shit, they made a movie about the last 2 years of my life? this is what actors get paid for?" it was pretty depressing (hostile brother and sister put father in a nursing home, and he ultimately dies). mama was incredulous that anyone would want to make a movie -- or go see one -- on the topic. her favorite actor was the old man who dies, because she said he could finally get paid and go home.

now we're gonna watch Margo at the Wedding. we'll see...

come on andria, go get a mel brooks movie or something
Posted: Jan 8, 2008 3:39 pm

I know, I know...
we turned off Margot 5 min in and watched and oldie, The Mexican Spitfire's Blessed Event, instead.

I'd just gotten loaned all these brand-new movies, and we'd heard the Savages was funny. be warned -- the only good part was the last 10 seconds.

this morning, my mama's still haranguing about the fact that they could've filmed the excruciating details of the last few years, esp. dealing with adult diapers, etc, and wound up with the same movie, for half the cost. I just say thank god she didn't cry while watching it -- I kept saying, "uhhh, we can turn this off," but she was determined to see it through.

now I have to convince her that Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney are real actors.

Mel Brooks tonight, definitely.
