O.k., here's the deal. We got this thing working (we think).

The link will not hyperlink, so you'll have to copy and paste it into your browser.

mms://216.37.73.243:8081/stream

We think we can handle up to about 18 users at a time, so we're going to re-start the service in between bands.

Because we're new at this, this will be a Hi-Tone exclusive stream. Next year, we'll try and get the bandwidth to handle more. For the next few nights, though, you may get to enjoy a little bit of Memphis, too.
We'll still post a few tracks, like we always do, as well

Anyway, enjoy tonight's performances, brought to you by Goner Records and Rocket Science Audio.

Posted: Sep 27, 2007 2:22 am

We're going to disconnect at 8:45, and start up the service just before the first band.
Posted: Sep 27, 2007 2:22 am

odd, the stream kept cutting off and caused my computer to crash and my internet wouldnt work until i repaired the connection

also wont stream with winamp and caused that program to crash repeatedly

i do have it working right now with windows media player
Posted: Sep 27, 2007 2:30 am

This is a great idea. However, the possibility of sitting around until two in the morning listening to the computer makes me feel like more of a loser than not being there. Any of this going to get archived?

Anyway, I get to see Weird Al on Friday! Party!
Posted: Sep 27, 2007 2:31 am

crashed my internet again
Posted: Sep 27, 2007 2:44 am

Sorry Brad, Don't know; THIS IS A TEST!

No workie for me now...sad face...did have it running on my squeezebox through the whole house and felt like, well, I was just in a noisy bar. Now I want a smoke.

Because we're new at this, this will be a Hi-Tone exclusive stream.
So, this is only available to people at the Hi-Tone who are sitting in the back room with their cans of beer and geeking out on their laptops while the music goes on in the other room?
Posted: Sep 27, 2007 7:50 pm

digital leather tracks are awesome

This is great.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:08 am

You should see bruce and muddy and the rest of the limeys.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:10 am

it's starting. The Barbaras. A huge ass buch of balloons on stage. They'll probably be naked before long.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:13 am | Edited by: dale

There should be a chat room set up like the one Scharpling has when his show is going on. There's always next year I guess but next year I PLAN ON BEING THERE. I haven't been to Memphis in a long time and I'm more than due.

Woo-hoo! I got it working on my computer too!!!

Turn the guitar up a little bit more.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:19 am

our internet went down last night and started up right now
i was afraid this stream fucked it up on my computer but apparently it was statewide for our isp
finally back online and the stream is working fine
thanks!

ran home for a second, holy crap, sounds great, be there in a sec
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:24 am | Edited by: dale

What ya drinking Brad? I'm thinking about switching to the laptop, going down to the basement and running the thing though my reciever and speakers down there. They're much more rock-n-roll worthy than the computer audio I have upstairs.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:26 am

bud SELECT
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:27 am

looks like a 4 day weekend starting right now...
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:27 am

hee-haw!!!

Listening to it right now, need to get some beer or somethin\' now...
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:27 am

i have a small living room and all my audio and video is fully integrated
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:34 am

This house is too bad and "family" centered for me to do that...and it's all more modern surround sound dolby pro logic junk upstairs. Downstairs is the old, dependable Technics "Rock-n-roll road tested" stuff....and that's where I am right now.

I just cracked the cap on a growler of IPA that I got from the beer garden down the road. 7.2 percent gold!
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:35 am

the weird, percussive sound is balloons popping, I believe.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:37 am

im sure if i have kids ill be hiding in the basement at night too
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:48 am

They're in bed...they can't hear it that much down there (seperated by two floors and all) so I can turn it up much louder...and ain't partly what it's all about?

Thomas Function!!!! Sounds great!!!
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:57 am

I hadn't heard them before but Thomas Function are great! Everything sounds good to these ears.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 3:58 am

thanks for setting this up, "dg"
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 4:05 am

yup sounds good
i had to move my turntables and stuff into the living room to be next to the records for the podcast, its also an ideal way to mix down multitracks

for awhile i had the computer in the office connected to the living room with a 50' cable but that was just ridiculous, there were piles of records everywhere

this band is pretty good
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 4:07 am

nice tune job
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 4:10 am

The Thomas Function is playing hear with Pink Reason two weeks from tonight.

There should be some in-between set commentary like there is during football games and presidental debates.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 5:03 am

I'm wondering if I could post a quick Ebay "Buy It Now" auction on the mms link between now and when Jay hits the stage....After all his stuff goes for big coin there.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 5:06 am

Something about Dale, Wisconsin and "I mean Michigan"? What?
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 5:24 am

Hey sound guy - turn down the vocals, would ya?

Posted: Sep 28, 2007 7:01 am

Posted: Sep 28, 2007 7:03 am

good job on sound guys
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 7:07 am

No shit. Better than most of those King Busciut Flower Power Concert radio shows I grew up on for sure. It puts Blood Visions in a new light for me.

Jay just did his Ian MacKaye impersonation? He should stop mid song and offer to pay the guys admission if he leaves.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 7:10 am

Who's in Jay's band anyways? This a damn good sounding!
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 7:10 am

Good idea. If the Dave Hill thread can stay up there for like a year, this certainly deserves two+ days.

There were two. Four dudes onstage.

It sounded like more. It's been a few years since I seen them...there was 3 then.

Good stuff!
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 5:56 pm

Why do you need 3 dat machines?

One stays at the Hi Tone, one travels from Goner to Lightyears to Murphys to Goner, and the third is for the second stage at Murphys.
Posted: Sep 28, 2007 6:23 pm

Not even close to having all of last night done. Everybody but greg has been dumped to my pc, but I still need to convert stuff and upload it. I'll try to get a few up, but I gotta go!

I'll be there in 15 minutes!

Man, this streaming stuff is awesome and amazing! I can't be there tonight. The miracles of modern technology...whoda thunk it!
Thanks RSA!!!

'I Don't Wanna Know' is one of those perfect pop songs!
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 3:30 am

This stream is really, really good. Massive thanks to those responsible.
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 3:33 am

I would like to also add that to have a band playing at the HiTone at 9:30 and hear lots of people there clapping and whooping it up is a pretty amazing feat, too. Kudos!
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 3:34 am

I still say there should be between set commentary or someone walking through the crowd with a mic fucking with people...or something...

Yeah, that'd be great. Kind of a virtual "My Name is dtrain!"

Y'know for a bunch of guys in their 60's HankIV rock pretty hard.

Haha. I was trying to get my rocker kid and his rocker kid friend to listen to the streaming and he snorted and said, "yeah, a bunch of guys in their 60s..."
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 4:20 am

My oldest son has disdain for old guy rockers too. I always say "But you listen to Hendrix all the time (and he does). He'd be close to 70 now."
"Yeah, but he died at 27 so he'll never be any older than that." I what I get in response.

Damn kids....

That's not really Satan.

"Yeah, but he died at 27 so he'll never be any older than that." I what I get in response.

Damn kids....

Yep, but how can you argue with that? (Rocker son's friend has a Hendrix shirt on tonight...)

I already made a deal with Satan. He welched on his end of the contract.

I got shout outs last night too. Dunno if that makes me cooler or more pathetic than everyone else.

Where the fuck is BradX anyways?

Mine's 11. He's going out as Hendrix for Halloween this year.

So the stuff at Murphy's tomorrow afternoon gonna be streamed? I've got errands to run, some time with the kids and gotta work some sleep in there too (and I'm working the midnight shift but I got internet access there too so I can catch most of the night stuff one way or the other) so I need to plan accordingly...Don't wanna miss the Goodnight Loving set tomorrow if I don't have too.

Because we're new at this, this will be a Hi-Tone exclusive stream. Next year, we'll try and get the bandwidth to handle more. For the next few nights, though, you may get to enjoy a little bit of Memphis, too.

Jack Stands is making sure that everyone knows we're there in spirit I think.

Rocker kids are a blast....You can turn them on to shit that is part of your whole fabric and watch them be blown away but still act like they're cooler than you'll ever be.

That's what I thought so to troll but then there's this

Why do you need 3 dat machines?

One stays at the Hi Tone, one travels from Goner to Lightyears to Murphys to Goner, and the third is for the second stage at Murphys.

So I don't know if I answered my own question or if the rocketeers are toying...

Is the Hi-Tone really Elvis' old dojo?
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 4:40 am

HEAD!
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 4:42 am

I thought that was for recording, not for streaming.
Posted: Sep 29, 2007 4:42 am

I think you're right...It sorta confused me for a minute though.

Yeah...I was gonna go out but I realized there ain't gonna be any good rock-n-roll going on 'round town tonight so the wife and I are listening. She's reading a book but every once in a while interjects something like "Satan is talking to you, hon."

Head rules!!!

Yeah, I'm starting to get kind of mad.

This is the third night I've sat around and listened to this. But yeah, I got nothing better to do. Vancouver sucks!

I'm not too familar of the band really but it sounds like it would be fun as hell to be there right now.
