A couple weeks ago I was standing at a corner on Park Ave. waiting for the light to change. This pretty black woman was talking to some Type-A white chick on the other side. All of a sudden another black woman came up to the pretty one and asked her for an autograph. As we passed when the light changed she said to the white chick "It's really scary. These people stalk you 24 hours a day..." I couldn't tell you who she was if my life depended on it.

Uh,....HELLO?

Excuse me, I may have been sighted BRIEFLY thru my disguise a couple of times at this event, but the proprieters of your little "gooner land" birthday party (or whatever you want to call it) didn't really want a big 'press thing' so we all agreed that it would be incognito for me.

As for you mister Beef, It was very nice talking to you backstage last evening, of course, they couldn't let me roam around freely where the uncivilized yahoo's mill about as for fear that they may not know exactly what to do with themselves seeing a celebrity of my caliber for the very first time.

In the meantime, BUY MY PERFUME!

Saw the singer from Disturbed in Arturo's Taqueria in Chicago at 3am this morning. My friend pointed him out sitting right next to us and said "I'm SURE it's him--I used to work with a girl who wore a Disturbed shirt ALL THE TIME!" Googled his ass this morning and sho nuff. He was with a very young and innocent-looking big-titted blonde girl and nobody in the packed joint seemed to know who he was but then again there were at least a half dozen dudes in there who looked exactly like him with shaved heads, goatees and black t-shirts.

A few years ago someone hooked up VIP passes to the Pogues first US reunion thing in NY. My girl and I took the Chinatown up from Philly, put our shit in a hotel and started a pub crawl from LES to Times Sq

They played and were great and we ended up stealing Kate Moss' table and smoking cigarettes and drinking with the Pogues daughters in the VIP balconies.

After the show we were ushered backstage to a weird lounge thing and my girl passed out on the couch. I was in a weird conversation with some Irish guy that started with "You're a jew aren't you?" that turned out to be friends with the band. As the conversation went on most of the band started coming over and hanging out until we had a large circle of convo with my girl passed out on the couch still kinda of in it.

Shane rolls over fucking completely out of it, in black stretch jeans and loafers, and starts making fun of my girlfriend for being asleep. It was pretty funny and he was rad but I started feeling bad for my girlfriend so I took her back to the hotel.

After I dropped her off I went to a crappy bar across the street with like 3 people in it and ended up having some guy put pubes in my beer when I went to the bathroom.

Lyndsey was in NYC for a photo shoot last week & was on an elevator w/Joe Namath. Said he was super nice. They needed to use their card keys on the elevator to get to the floor they were on & the elevator wouldn't accept their cards. He looked at her & said "Wanna try another one?" They did & it worked. Namath did not try to kiss Lyndsey, nor was he drunk. Namath was in town for the "Joe Namath Celebrity Charity Golf Classic." Good work if you can get it.

i had a similar sighting about 10 years ago...

don't know if it was DOLCE or GABBANA - as i didn't know who was whom between them, but they were sitting right behind me at sting's vocal recital at weill concert hall at carnegie - where he sang classics - cole porter & stuff...

anyway, one of the designers was sleeping and SNORING! sting was wearing their clothes which is why i suppose they were there.

i just wish i had the balls to have snoozed thru that!

My girlfriend walked right into David Johanson at the Port Authority Bus Station the last time we were in NYC. I've never met anyone famous, but I did stand in line behind former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and his family waiting to see a Mighty Ducks movie with my dad when I was 10 or 11 years old. Dude just resigned from office (he was the Richard Nixon of Canada, not very well liked at all) and everyone was like "Oh my god, is that really him." Then my dad made some comment about how he had more respect for him now just standing in line with common people even though he hated his politics, and no more than a minute later, he motioned over to theatre security and had his family escorted with him into the movie theatre 10 minutes before everyone else.

speaking of DOLCE or GABBANA, i scored a badASS D&G shirt, never worn, Italian made, with big puffy silk sleeves for 37 bucks the other week. I almost wept. and last week I bought a pair of D&G red slut sandals... for 75$!

and just for good measure, I'll also add that I found a helmut lang shirt for 8 bucks.

IMO, these designer snags beat celebrities sightings anyday.

Had a brief conversation with Marky Ramone, while we were both looking through the Guitar Wolf section at Amoeba. Not having checked out much of their newer stuff (00's), I asked him his opinion. He said he hadn't heard any of their stuff, at all. So I tell him that Planet of the Wolves is good. He was holding a copy of "I Love Guitar Wolf". I mention that I'm usually hesitant about tribute albums. He exclaim THIS IS A TRIBUTE!? Awe fuck that... & crams it back in the bin.
& On the subject of MR... a musician friend of mine shared a flat for a night or 2, with Marky in the mid 90's. Anyway friend was more than a little amused to see Marky's "hair" sitting on a Speaker after things had settled down for the night.
I live in Hollywood so I tend to see celebrities a lot, so the only other one i'll mention is standing in line at a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Santa Monica with Phil Spector. This was days after he was let out on bail, when all that Lana Clarkson stuff went down. My friend & I saw his head of hair walking from across the parking lot, not to mention his gargantuan body guard. He came in & made a a dash for the bathroom, after which he was standing with us by the counter. I don't think I've ever tried hard to NOT make eye contact with someone.

I have at various time hung out at he house of Bob Denver, for thanksgiving, or other get togethers ... he married my dad's sister.

A friend of ours seen Joe Torre walking around our town the other day. He said he seemed frail and old. (He lives two towns over from us. Mariano Rivera lives in the next town on the other side.)

I coulda sworn I seen Mike Shanahan (Head coach of The Denver Broncos) standing in front of our local Tavern (where Babe Ruth and Lou Gherig used to go when they lived here) earier this summer. He kinda glared at me.
