The treble clef is pretty rad. 16th notes are way cool, too.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:03 pm

Staccato!
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:04 pm

glissando.
and no one does em like the beach boys
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:04 pm

Also, I'd like to see sheet music with nothing but the upside-down quarter-notes and at the end put a bar with a whole rest. Then you could call the piece "P All Over the Rest Stop".

"Retardo" is pretty funny when you think about it.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:07 pm

The treble clef sucks, 16th notes are overrated, FUCK Staccato, glissando is for fags and the beach boys suck and are fags and you don't know shit about sheet music.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:08 pm

Retardo's okay, but I grew out of it.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:08 pm

you just can't fuck with a triplet.

anyone care to flutter tongue with me? meet me at the coda.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:14 pm

so what instrument category does the piano fall into? strings or percussion? it has strings, but the strings are stricken with a mallet. i asked my band teacher this in the 10th grade and he said "you just answered your own question!" what a dipshit.

yeah that's right. i was in band. you wanna make something of it?
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:14 pm

has anyone seen the bridge?
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:16 pm

"Retardo" is pretty funny when you think about it.

My middle school band director used to yell "Ritard! Don't be one, do one!" Probably not even that funny from a 12-year-old perspective.

Guess again.

Big surprise.

you just can't fuck with a triplet.

As a kid, I soooo wanted to fuck the triplets from Parent Trap: Hawaiian Honeymoon. But like the man said, you can't.

so what instrument category does the piano fall into?

a piano is a harp plus mallets
it plays rhythm and it plays lead
a piano is bi-categorical

but isn't KEYBOARD an instrument category unto itself, thereby making your question moot?
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:24 pm

but isn't KEYBOARD an instrument category unto itself, thereby making your question moot?

then why did you say, "a piano is bi-categorical?"

SHEESH!

stricken with a mallet.
"struck" with a mallet. You are "stricken" with a malady.
Get it right. This is real music talk.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:27 pm

I'm bi-categorical-curious.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:28 pm

No, I don't think it was. I didn't even giggle aloud when reading this, and I full on laughed at the other shit. I said funnier stuff than this this morning!!

Uh-oh. here comes Mr Stands to try and be the tough guy! Shut it ya old hippie!
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:40 pm

This is s SERIOUS music thread. We're not here to discuss what you think is funny.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:44 pm

Bazooka asked and I answered. You should really try and lighten up, Mr Stands. I think you need a vacation. Or maybe just a long nap. You have to sleep a lot more when you get old, dontcha? And don't you just get grumpier, too? Well, we'll try not to judge you on just your age, I mean, you can't help it! Can you? Poor guy.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:45 pm

I don't see why you get so upset. I told you I supported gay marriage.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:47 pm

I told you I supported gay marriage.

I'm not sure what that means. Uh-oh, I guess the dementia is setting in. The doctor said you'd have a few more good years. Oh, well. You've had a good run, I'd say.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:48 pm

Thank god you broke poor josh's heart before he found out you were a dude.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:50 pm

Good one. When are you gonna think of a new joke? I guess its hard to think up new material at your age.
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:51 pm

Do you still play man-swords with Jagger?
Posted: Jul 12, 2007 7:52 pm

OK, this might be the funniest thing you've said today.

How many of you fools can actually read music? Sight read, like play it as you are reading it?

I seem to remember some shit about Every Good Boy Does Fine, FACE for the spaces, but I couldn't actually convert any of that into music.

I tend to think reading music has very little to do with actually making music, coming from my non-classical retardo background in it, but mebbe that's just because I'm an illiterate.

My son can. And now, it seems, the little bastard has perfect pitch as well. Annoying, but sort of useful when I can't find the guitar tuner. "Hey son, give me an E."
