Droppin' the info:

Just dropping you a reminder that iconic punk rockers Bad Religion will be releasing their fourteenth studio album, New Maps of Hell, on July 10th. This is the group's twenty-seventh year as a band and they are showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. In fact the new album is one of their most aggressive and hard-hitting albums in years.

The album features the band's signature lush harmonies, blistering riffs and furiously charged beats that fans have grown to love over the years. Produced by Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age), New Maps of Hell awakens the dormant rebel within on songs like the hit single "Honest Goodbye" and the austerely subversive "New Dark Ages."

Additionally, the band will be playing the main stage at this summer's Warped Tour. Dates are listed below.

time for a note from the greatest thinker of our times, mr. Jerry A
To all these fucking corporate punks, these Rancid guys, Brett, Bad Religion guys, Offspring guys, Epitaph guys, fucking Good Charlotte guys..... You are not punk rock. You have never been punk rock. You're a bunch of traitors. You're fucking traitors. Punk rockers should rise up and hang you. They should fucking kill you. You guys are piranhas, you're fucking cancer. You're fucking business men. You're fucking ripping people off. You're pushing shit products down peoples' throats. You're no fucking salvation; you're just a finger in a dike. You're nothing, you're fucking bullshit. Fuck you guys. Yeah I admit Rancid has some good songs. Bad Religion HAD some good songs. Some of these bands HAD some good songs. Besides that, they're business men. Clothing lines, photography, movies.... What next? Are you gonna start putting out pinball machines? You're fucking capitalist fucks. Fuck you. You're a bunch of fucking assholes.

1st 7"--okay, some classic songs but weak production
Public Service comp tracks--awesome shit! these three songs have the best production of anything they ever did
How Could Hell Be Any Worse--total classic punk rock and look at these fucking lyrics, they wrote this shit in HIGH SCHOOL. When I was in high school I was writing songs like "Anarchy Anarchy Anarchy" and "Dead Christmas". Jesus.
Into The Unknown--never heard it, don't really care
Back To the Known ep--great comeback, every tune a memorable classic
Suffer--they return with another classic, modern SoCal punk rock was invented here in '88 for better or worse
No Control--classic, my favorite reunited BR album, maybe their most aggressive collection of songs with the modern production retaining a rawer quality that puts this over the top
Against The Grain--sterile production but still lots of great songs and the incredible lyrical skill of Greg and Brett is at it's peak
Generator--the big sellout begins, their slickest yet, not much stands out
Recipe For Hate--the big sellout arrives--guest vocals by Eddie Vedder?? total disppointment, they lost me here and I've never checked out anything since

Oh yeah, I love Jerry A and Poison Idea but PI went to shit the same time BR did in the early 90's and last time I looked, Taang was selling every fucking article of clothing anyone could wear with PI logos on it. Hey The Pot, meet my friend The Kettle...

you're insane

FEEL THE DARKNESS IS GODHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted: Jun 30, 2007 6:14 am

I agree--Blank Blackout Vacant was their last good album. I was thinking '93--the year 'Recipe For Hate' and 'We Must Burn' both came out. Funny, Feel The Darkness was my fave PI record forever but I must've totally burned out on it cuz the last several times I've played it it just doesn't hit me like it used to. Now my fave is probably the Ian MacKaye ep--six epic rippers, every one totally ace.

Bad Religion went belly up long before PI did...We Must Burn crushes just about every BR record except Suffer and How Could Hell

and the new one is so good...back to form Kings of Punk esque I'd say

Ian Mackaye is a fucking doozy...but for me it's a toss up between Kings and War All the Time

I cut my teeth on these guys. I can't really dig it anymore, but what they did... they did. Rich Crook had an old video he showed me a long time ago. It was some compilation that had Greg Graffin making a buncha sense. He (Greg) said (and I'm paraphrasing) "if I reach the point where I'm still doing this and it ceases to be of relevance I would like to think somebody would let me know so I can do something else with my life". Apparently nobody let him know.

Wow. Not a "WOW!"........ just a plain ordinary underwhelmed "wow."

I looked up their myspace curious as to how they look/sound now. Fuck. What are they doing/thinking? Unbelievably horrible. And there's 6 people in the band now? huh?

unbelievable.
