all good things come to an end.

a lot of good came out of that man.

oh shit i wont get to hear his rap on sunday. he should at least come out and die onstage.
Posted: May 17, 2007 7:10 am

i dont mean that in a negative way. i think it would be a fitting end, better than dying on the toilet or something.
Posted: May 17, 2007 7:22 am

i wish for the sonics to die onstage too.
Posted: May 17, 2007 7:22 am

I heard this on the way over to the rockabilly fest. One of the few things I was really looking forward to seeing. I wanted to learn how to cook a pig!

Oh well. Candlelight vigil either way.

ROCK 'n' roll pioneer Bo Diddley, hospitalised by a stroke last Sunday, was up and walking around today but still struggling to communicate.

Longtime manager and friend Margo Lewis said the stroke had left Diddley with no physical disability but had affected the left side of his brain, impairing his speech and speech recognition.

She said it was too early to tell if he would be able to recover enough to perform again.

"He is having a hard time understanding us ... We're hopeful he can come back," Ms Lewis said.

"We're going to get a guitar for him and put it in his lap and let him entertain people here," Lewis said from the hospital. "People think that would be good therapy for him."

"Singing a song is different than speaking," she said. "Even when there is a problem with speaking, or hesitancy, we've seen where people can sing perfectly."

i used to be in a band called the dead ramones but that was back when they were still all alive.
Posted: May 17, 2007 11:31 pm

well I'm not sure it's any different if he never snaps back.
Posted: May 17, 2007 11:34 pm

my grandmother had a stroke about 5 years ago and cant walk anymore and had to relearn to talk and write and she's pretty much back. if he's up and walking around already he cant be doing all that bad.
Posted: May 17, 2007 11:36 pm

its really frustrating because usually the person knows what they want to say but they cant find the right words, it tends to lead to severe depression in alot of people. reading out loud helps, maybe he can recite the bible.

Doctors: Musician Bo Diddley Will Perform Again

AP - Singer and musician Bo Diddley walked around the intensive-care unit yesterday at Creighton University Medical Center as he recovers from a stroke.
Doctors in Nebraska say they're encouraged that Diddley will be able to perform again.
The 78-year-old Diddley told his audience that he wasn't feeling well during a show in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Saturday night.
Diddley's manager, Margo Lewis, had the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer taken to the hospital by ambulance when he appeared disoriented at the Omaha airport on Sunday.
Though Diddley's speech is impaired, he's made significant progress.
Lewis says it's uncertain how long Diddley, who has a history of
hypertension and diabetes, will be hospitalized.
He had planned a monthlong tour of the Midwest and United Kingdom -- beginning this weekend in the Dallas area.
Lewis says those shows are now canceled
