Also, THIS was just rediscovered, it's from when me and Dusty were on a long car ride last summer and got really stoned and started drawing pictures. He told me to draw a picture of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar butt rapin' this local heavy metal douchebag creep we know, and I told him to draw Dolly Parton giving birth to a penguin.

You played basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Murdock : I'm sorry son, but you must have me confused with some-
one else. My name is Roger Murdock. I'm the co-pilot.
Joey : You are Kareem! I've seen you play. My dad's got
season tickets.
Murdock : I think you should go back to your seat now Joey.
Right Clarence?
Oever : Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, he's not bothering anyone, let him
stay here.
Murdock : But just remember, my name is ROGER MURDOCK. I'm an
airline pilot.
Joey : I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't
work hard enough on defence. And he says that lots of
times, you don't even run down court. And that you
don't really try . . . except during the playoffs.
Murdock : The hell I don't!! ( grabs joey by collar ) LISTEN KID!
I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA.
I'm out there busting my buns every night. Tell your
old man to drag Walton and Denier up and down the
court for 48 minutes.
Oever : Joey, do you like movies about gladiators?

Can someone update the cover of our '77 album 'Draw The Line'. It would be cool if it was Slim Harpo making a map, Jimmy Page writing on a chalkboard and me drawing a line (of cocaine) and offering it to Valarie Bertinelli. I don't do that stuff anymore but I just went back and listened that album the other day.

Don't forget that summer is always a hot time for some hot sauce.

Hey Rich, I know you're just upset because you are a total pozer and HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD of most of these artists...and that's okay. I mean, I think it's a little weird that you don't even know who GENE SIMMONS is, but I'm not going to judge you. I'll let you in on a little secret though, it's called www.allmusic.com. You can read about ALL KINDS of bands there, and you won't have to feel left out anymore. In fact, once you become knowledgeable about cool music, you probably won't be able to get ENOUGH of my "work"!

Tell ya what, here's a couple pictures of people that you already know all about cause they're lame and you like them...
John Mellencamp vs. Bruce Springsteen
Don Henley being eaten alive by eagles

...and here's one that you might have to do some research on:
Ron and Russell Mael (from a rock band called SPARKS, dude) advertising dog food

By the way, once you know stuff and become cool, you will probably be excited to know that I am going to be selling all of these at Gonerfest 4 for the reasonable price of $10 apiece!

Moe Tucker and Lou Reed punting a turtle

Totally my favorite, because it's somebody punting a turtle. It could have been anyone punting a turtle and it would still be funny. What's not funny about turtles?
Posted: Sep 4, 2007 2:04 am
Yeah, turtles are totally humorously funny. I think it's because they're so helpless or something. I'll have to consult my humor textbook.

Unfortunately dudes, I am WAY too unorganized right now to keep track of people making dibs on any of these pictures, so it's pretty much just gonna have to be first come, first served at Gonerfest. Sorry!

Fortunately dudes, the book is almost done! And not to brag, but it's seriously gonna be SO awesome. I'm in the middle of drawing the cover right now and I can't wait to be done! I drew so many fucking pictures this summer, I think I might have accidentally turned into a REAL ARTIST. Woops!

Will do. Yeah, I understand. Still kicking myself for not meeting up with you at the blackout. I met up with clif, and he said you were there, but that week was pretty crazy for me, too.

Any of us see Todd on a fairly regualar basis, so I'm sure we could take it to him for ya...provided it's not really huge or alive or anything.

no promises.

The Blackout was always such a clusterfuck for me that I regretted not looking for certain people I hadn't met or howareya'd other folks I knew, but I'm sure Gonerfest is the same way. You'll just have to stop by on your trip around the midwest! OK, enough thread hijack.

dude, the book is so funny. i could not stop laughing. i love it. :) good work.
Posted: Sep 27, 2007 2:47 am

Thanks Eric!

got a few original drawings left... not many! Still some good ones unsold, though! Monday? Tuesday?

Book is pure genius. Back to back, looking at all this stuff, is fantastic.

I only bought 3 of them on Friday. The Danzig/Doyle lawn boys was already scooped up by that H0pp3. And I soiled my copy of the book, no homo.

Thanks to everybody who bought my art and/or the book! It was awesome meeting all you people! Thanks again Eric for putting it out! You guys fucking rule!!!!!!!!

It's pretty crazy that I posted a dumb drawing here a few months ago and now there's glossy posters, t-shirts, and 1000 copies of a BOOK! I wasn't even TRYING to be an artist!

criminal records in atlanta has comics along with their music. vintage phoenix in bloomington, indiana carried them too. clifton comics in cincinnati might do it. newbury comics in boston as well. i'm too lazy to look up addresses though. :(

You should, like, draw a picture of stuff, but for free again.
Posted: Oct 9, 2007 10:37 pm
most record stores in Austin will do books. I know Waterloo has a book section. Sound on Sound will find a place for it I'm sure. I mean it's probably more record store fodder than bookstore fodder.
Posted: Oct 10, 2007 5:08 am
yeah, it's just that books/magazines get lost in record distros. we'd at least like to try to get in touch directly.
Posted: Oct 10, 2007 5:09 am
thanks for the tips!

back in the day, i'd send 200 to See Hear and go from there!

(insert old timer sigh here.)

Hey Eric, check out this store/gallery in Vancouver, Lucky's Comics. They would probably take a couple.
Posted: Oct 21, 2007 12:43 am
There are a handfull of places here in Portland that would probably take them:

Green Noise Records(guy who runs Dirtnap), Floating World Comics(hipster, indie comic shop that smells), 2nd Ave. Records, Excalibur comics has a great indie section too. Also too lazy too look uo addresses but I'm sure they are easy enough to find on the cyber-web

It's getting to be "timely" enough for my request to be appropriate Mr. C. I don't want to ruin the surprise by mentioning it again though.

Make my Christmas wish come true this year O-mighty-Goner-Artist-in-Residence!
