What happened to your myspace? Something to do with your journalistic street cred? I was going to compliment you on being such a refined drinker of heavenly piss. Too bad everybody else fucked it up.

Yay, Ron Paul is one of the few decent congressmen.

On paper it make sense. In reality, they can't get it together. I dig Ron Paul, but he has no chance at the big dance.

Man, the republicans seem really stupid, but compared to the Left these guys are geniuses. I hate that there are so many issues I adamantly disagree with the Right on, it would be nice to be on a winning team for once. I don't care what anybody says; a vote for a 3rd Party Candidate is a vote for the Right. The 2 party system for presidential elections is here to stay.

What happened to your myspace?

I deleted it. Never really used the thing anyway.

I want that shirt.

I got it at Hot Topic, no shit.

All political parties are an affront to the very concept of par-tay-ing.

That said, I love those awesome newsletters from Lyndon LaRouche that show up in my mailbox. Batshit crazings, fersure.

I'm a member of the Libertarian Party, although I think they can be a little too compromising at times.

On NO Here comes a rant of no consequence!

What any new socio-economic party has to contend with is, well America. America and the general malaise of the people in this country. If any party has a chance at changing anything it has to be on a local to state level so that the ground work is built up and can spread. I'm all for states, and commonwealths, rights. You can't just take the White House when your plan hasn't been proven to work anywhere else. In fact it takes a lot more than running for president to prove that your ideas are valid. I really hate candidates that do that. Show me it works and then we can talk.
That just takes the cake on American Entitlement.
Which brings me back to my first point. America is a greed based economy that breeds on the laziness of it's constituents. Until we become smarter as a nation as a whole and realize that we are all part of this deprived, violent, racist society nothing is ever going to change. Because the powers that be will always make the US vs Them about you vs your neighbor rather than you vs Injustice.

End rant ... now.

Live from state to state, living day by day
The only paycheck that I know is what I steal today
I like my girls real young, but keep marriage out of mind
I lick 'em and forget 'em because my friends I have no time
Never settle down, living just to fry
But all the things I take in life are things that you can't buy
I sleep all through the day time and I creep all through the night
But I'll live until I die on the outskirts of life

Within the perimeter of this world I just don't feel real right
I'm living by the laws of a gun and a knife
My soul cannot be tamed, I'm living just to die
I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life

Don't try talking to me, I just don't have the time
You bore me with your useless life, but you never know about mine
Listen to me closely, do exactly what I say
Give me what I want from you or I'll take it anyway
Liquor, drugs, whores and greyhounds, guns and violence too
In my world I'm living by the laws of who knows who
I have no fear of nothing, each day I set to die
So I'm living by myself on the outskirts of life

You say that as if being a capitalist is something to be ashamed of.

Truth be told, my politics have more in common with hip-hop than any political party. I'm one of those "I'll get mine, by any means neccesary" kind of dudes. I'm all about getting out of this shithole and I've slung dope, cooked meth, grew weed, robbed and stolen trying to get there. Now I just pimp myself, and oddly enough I'm actually alot more profitable than meth even.

Anyway, I don't believe that laws apply to me, but I ain't an anarchist no mo'. I have no faith in the rest of humanity, I just know that I have my best interest in mind, so I'm the only person that I trust to have control over me.

Yeah I'm totally a capitalist.
The main problem with the Libertarian party is that they essentially market themselves to young people with their stance of drug legalization and people basically just follow the party based on that. The Libertarian ideal is great but cannot exist in todays society because of they way we have developed as a nation. We needed the government to step in when people were holding a monoply on essential products such as oil and sugar, we also needed the govenment to step in early on in the growth of the nation by imposing tarrifs on imorted products to stimulate the growth of American buisness.
So the Libertarian ideal of essentially no government involvement in personal or buisness has a fatal misunderstanding of how our country has always been run. Many Libertarians do not believe that the government should control minimum wage, which ideally is great because it would help people force companies themselves to pay them decently by refusing to work for low paying jobs. Of course that is completely unfeasable in a country like ours where so many people are living below the poverty line and many people would take jobs with lower pay.

In a much more consise and less rambling manner, the Libertarian Party has unrealistic ideals about how a country with our history, and one that is so big, can be run effectively.

i know a super-libertarian.
she is the most paranoid, psudeo-psychotic person i have ever met

Sure, if you think Govt should choose whether or not a woman can have an abortion & want to keep dem damn dirty gays from marrying.

While Paul markets himself as a Republican/Libertarian, he's nowhere near a "true" libertarian (hence his positions on gay marriage & abortion).
Posted: Apr 27, 2007 10:22 pm
There actually used to be liberal Republicans in this country. Some of them were pretty close to Libertarianism. Too bad everything got so polarized.
Posted: Apr 27, 2007 10:50 pm
Well you do have the log cabin republicans.

Nice way of wording it, but he never voted to ban them either, as far as I know, he just voted to keep any clear definition and laws of marriage/abortion out of the constitution since they aren't constitutional manners. I personally don't care about constitutional ammendments on either issue as well, laws on such should go the federalist way as originally designated and be state independent. There would be too much alienation on one side or the other to make for a constitutional ammendment.

It's silly when anyone is a "true" straight arrow of any political party, he's libertarian enough.

Any guy who voted to not give Rosa Parks a congressional medal is a hero in my book.

Moderators: can you please delete this entire thread? All this boring talk about "politics" is gaying up the entire board.

The two parties are the double headed eagle. They both serve corporate interests and rarely you and me once they get to a national level. The two parties facilitate the voting process and therefore have control.

Individuals are talking about these issues more and are aware of what is going on outside the big media outlets. There is a glimmer of hope to escape the deep ruts of the two party system. Local capitalism is not bad. Capitalist world corporate fascist government is.

Yup, I as well sure do miss Lyndon LaRouche. He was wearing tinfoil hats before tinfoil hats were cool.

I wenty to 31 flavors the other day and asked for pecan prailine ice cream. Dude gives me vanilla and I say "what the fuck is ths? I wanted pecan prailine." To which he replies "all I know is you didn't ask for chocolate so obviously you want vanilla cause anything that ain't chocolate is vanilla"

I then pulled out my cock and shot him in the face cause he was an annoying nimrod.

Then I shat in the Tutti-Frutti and away I went.
