Duel or Convoy

more crucial suicide: papa hemmingway or sylvia plath?

well thanks to wikipedia i have learned that hemmingway went out with a shotgun purchased at Abercrombie & Fitch -- i happen to work next to the fagship A&F store and they are so lucky they do not still sell shotguns.
anyways, a shotgun to the head trumps a head in the oven any day

live at surf city or born innocent?
shit dude - i\'m busted -- i don\'t have Born Innocent - i\'m lame. need that shit. i do have a well worn copy of Surf City so it\'s obviously more crucial.

Now that you\'re on page 4, which was more Crucial - 2 or 3?
i aint gonna go back and re-read that shit but this is like asking which is more crucal Spits s/t 2 or s/t 3 - only an asshole will think they know the answer (and of course i know the answer but i aint saying)

duel or Convoy
oh dude, Duel is way more crucial than Convoy. Dickel\'s for drinkin\' - water\'s for bathin and trucks are for killin\'

patches or pins?
it's hard to beat the trusty motorhead patch on a levi vest or jacket - but hell pins are just so much easier to deal with. i've always been much to lazy to actually put any patches on my jacket (even though i've purchased a few)

Born Innocent (the movie) vs. The Exorcist?
Linda Blair rules! the NA single is telling me the Exorcist is more crucial though

whats more crucial:
cheap beer or really really good beer

668=neighbor of the beast

whats more crucial:
cheap beer or really really good beer

this is one of those situational crucial calls -- but in general really really good beer is more crucial -- say you go to a party and there is a bucket of beer - its all free to you - are you gonna grab an IPA or a PBR? i'm going for the IPA -- but say that party is a BBQ and it's 90 degrees outside - here i'll probably grab the PBR over the IPA if those were the only choices.

you could always split the difference and grab a Yuengling - a pretty good beer that's also cheap

grab a Yuengling - a pretty good beer that's also cheap

and completely inaccessible in the west.
Posted: Jun 18, 2009 1:40 pm

most "good beer" is entirely undrinkable
unless you really like unsweet maple syrup
Posted: Jun 18, 2009 5:15 pm

if that's what you need to tell yourself to stick to your diet then more power to you

whatever happened to Henry Weinhardts on the west coast? that was a staple of mine in the early 90's (along with 40s of Green Death of course)

Wow, that Diamond Head video is the shit.

Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page?

Acting in the name CRUCIALITY I decree Hendrix thee more crucial Jim(i)my!!

Though Paddy may disagree...and Zac. Crackers...
Posted: Dec 15, 2009 5:56 pm

c'mon, just look at the signature songs: Purple Haze vs. Stairway to Heaven - question answered (of course not the most crucial jam by either one but those are the one's they'll be known by)

i saw the whole Jimi set at Montery recently on pbs - that shit killed. so Jimi's more crucial than Jimmy (total) but right now i'm in the mood to blast Black Dog
Posted: Dec 16, 2009 4:02 pm

Totally agree, but some of that new live LedZep from 67/68 really shows what a mother Jimmy Page was.

Just had to get the final say.
Posted: Feb 22, 2010 8:46 am

As overheard spoken by Homer on a Simpsons rerun yesterday: There's Jimmy Page, the greatest thief of American black music who ever walked the Earth.

i don't really care about this debate. whatever happened to punk rock?
Posted: Feb 22, 2010 1:14 pm

Because you're jealous that they have humor and you don't?
Posted: Feb 22, 2010 7:18 pm

automatic disqualification

you can get away with saying you've hated the simpsons for the past <insert a number up to 15> years. but only an asshole "always hated the Simpsons."

Do you know Lugubrum? No, then fuck you then.

i like to imagine what nanne tepper sounds like when he rants on the goner-board. in my head he has a screechy high pitch voice when he gets really perturbed.

Going to an okay show with your close friends or going to an awesome show solo?

Going to an okay show with your close friends or going to an awesome show solo?

oh hell - going to an awesome show solo is way more crucial than going to an okay show with close friends - i'm always flying solo at shows - not like you can really talk to someone while a band is playing anyways.
but i would take a mediocre restaurant with close friends over going to a good restaurant alone.

a good fuzz pedal or an amp that don't need it?

Motley Crue "Too Fast for Love"

has to be crucial, right?
Posted: Jun 7, 2011 7:35 pm

I'm down with "Too Fast For Love" - but I don't know if it's totally crucial - the only totally essential thing the Crue ever put out was their book "The Dirt" - best rock book ever? yes, I think so (sorry Nick Tosches)

Most crucial Scorpions tune?
Posted: Jul 31, 2011 12:12 pm

wait, did you meant to ask: most crucial whistling solo in a Scorpions tune?
i may know the answer to that one
Posted: Jul 31, 2011 5:11 pm

Most crucial Scorpions tune?

ok, fuck the whistling solo - worst shit ever.
i'm partial to Virgin Killer but it's too obvious -- most crucial Scorps tune is The Sails of Charon

Crucial Dude, I was in Little Rock on Friday. It was totally not crucial, what's up with that?
Posted: Aug 1, 2011 6:07 pm

there's a stick (perhaps more than one stick) up many a memphis fucker's ass which prevents them from realizing how crucial Little Rock can be. perhaps this is the case, but i'm willing to grant that good times can be damn hard to find in Little Rock at times and I'm still pissed at their one record store (actually in North Little Rock)

so what was your problem? there's good catfish to eat - i dig the whole hog cafe. you shoulda been able to have a good time seeing a fair-to-middlin honky tonk band at the White Water Tavern. I fear it may not be the town that ain't crucial - it may be the dude.
Posted: Aug 7, 2011 7:39 pm

i was hoping for a controversial opinion but i failed ---
Little Rock kinda sucks because it wants to be Dallas - Dallas is lame so LR is double fucked

i still kinda love it though - it's easy to eat well - as in most Southern cities - so that aint gonna impress anyone already from the South - except Arkansas does seem to have a leg up on Catfish houses

i really do love the White Water Tavern - great venue -- more Memphis bands should play there (only Jack O and Tyler Keith so far that I know of)

there's a couple decent places to hang out and drink in Stiff Station which is at least a good name for a neighborhood

that town definitely needs a decent record store
Posted: Aug 7, 2011 8:12 pm

the few times i have been to little rock have been good, can't remember the name of the bigger club, but i think that's the only place i saw bands. played with supersuckers and hung out with eagles of death metal(dave catchings, memphis boy)

Crucial Dude,

Clapton in any era?
Posted: Dec 14, 2011 1:36 am

Asmodeus or Amadeus?
Posted: Dec 14, 2011 11:08 am

Clapton in any era?

my initial reaction is i fucking hate eric clapton - that fucker is only rivaled by Bono for annoying rock star twit- but i'll give it up

Yardbirds fucking rule - sure clapton's the least crucial of guitar triumvirate (Beck>Page>Clapton) but still, fucking yardbirds rule

that Blues Breakers record w/ clapton is damn good

i can hang with Cream -- not too enthusiastic but i can def. hang

blind faith - not so much

'Yer Blues' with the Plastic Ono Band is pretty fucking crucial

derrick and the dominoes - doesn't really suck - but i gotta admit i have a soft spot. my old band in sf used to practice in a space kept by psycho-killer Jim Gordon's friend - and we used his drum hardware and had his American flag and other possessions hanging around the studio.

after that is all goes straight down the shitter --
if he'd died at 27 that Clapton is God graffiti might ring true
but then we woulda missed out on his great racist 'keep england white' tirade - crucial irony for blues guitar picker

George Chakiris or George Maharis?
Posted: Jan 16, 2012 5:52 pm

Clapton is good.
Posted: Jan 16, 2012 5:55 pm

I wouldn't call Jim Gordon a psycho KILLER. After all, he only killed one person. I figure to be called a killer you gotta kill people regularly.
Posted: Jan 16, 2012 5:57 pm

Ricardo Montalban, Cesar Romero or Fernando Lamas?
Posted: Jan 16, 2012 6:05 pm

Tony Franciosa, James Farentino or James Franciscus?
