Exodus, Bonded By Blood?
Posted: Mar 31, 2007 6:45 pm

GI - Boycott Stabb - way crucial (at this point i only listen to it a couple of times a year - but this was a heavy rotation record for about 10 years) I saw GI at the Antenna Club after they had pretty much gone to shit but this record lives on.

Exodus - beyond crucial -- but i'll admit i pose hard and dont got this record. i been rocking slayer all morning (hell awaits and reign in blood) and now i'm bummed i dont have any fucking exodus to rock out to. i seen 'em once in Oakland around 89-90 and it was brutal.

Traveling Wilburys were destroyed for me by the presence of Jeff Lynn - it only takes one turd to ruin the entire bowl of punch

Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever is not on my crucial radar. However, I remember hearing when I was a kid that 'damn the torpedos' was written on a hunting trip and the original lyrics to 'here comes my girl' were 'here comes my squirrle' -- i like the idea of tom petty doing squirrle hunting songs but alas this was probably some april fool's joke i fell for in jr. high.

Boston Terriers - are silly to ponder. they seem far from crucial until they're in your face. totally crucial dudes when they're around.

Crucifucks - Crucial Fucks!

Crucifix -- i can answer this one with one picture of jimmy crucifix in 1976 with a flying fucking V

i got a punker buddy who totally digs ELO

this summer, i was taken aback when i realized that ghetto ways was rockin ELO's 'don't bring me down' during one of their pass out records in-stores. seriously, they made it sound great. made me think it was just jeff lynn's pussy performance that i didn't like...although his production of many records he's been involved with does get on my nerves more often than not. esp. tom petty. rick rubin did a much better job "producing" tom petty

do i see a new continuing feature on the goner main page...?

No love for Proletariat?

whoa dude, i got love for Proletariat. but when the question is who is the most crucial band on one of the most crucial comps of all time i gotta go with the FUs. i copped out yesterday because the true answer is the FUs and will always be the FUs. every band on Boston Not LA ranks as crucial though.
Posted: Apr 4, 2007 4:01 pm

Who is the most crucial KBD band? Do not dissapoint crucial dude.

shit dude - greater minds than mine (like justin 'collector scum' and mark 'icki' murmann) have probably weighed heavy thoughts about this massive question.

when it comes to kbd comps the most crucial songs on these comps probably arent from the most crucial bands. like the wipers are probably more crucial than Freestone but 'bummer bitch' is more crucial than 'better off dead' -
but you asked about bands not songs - so...

bazooka joe says the Trend is the obvious answer. but i think if he was being honest with himself he'd say the Beastie Boys. but that's just him.

fuck it, i'm gonna Break the Rules and say Freestone is the most crucial kbd band. probably every other song they did was total hippie shit - hell, i'll never know. the jokes on us -- some stupid hippies making fun of ths punk rock crap springing up accidentially stumble on creating the most awesome kbd song of all - fuck, how crucial is that?

(the formula for arrivng at FREESTONE was just looking at the track list for kbd #2 since that's the most crucial volume and eliminating all the foreign bands (knocking out psycho surgeons) and that leaves me with a choice between FREESTONE and NERVOUS EATERS and i figure NERVOUS EATERS are probably the more crucial band but 'bummer bitch' is the more crucial jam so fuck it i go with that)
Posted: Apr 4, 2007 4:06 pm

But the Trend kids were THREE YEARS OLD!

Ballad of Green Berets by FUs is one of the all time most-Crucial songs of all time. Way more Crucial than Col. Sadler's version. But who am I to say things are Crucial?

La Peste are pretty Crucial.

Most crucial Black Flag drummer?

Most crucial Black Flag drummer?

i guess this is a toss up between ROBO and CHUCK BISCUITS. Chuck is probably the more crucial drummer but ROBO wins out by actually being on Black Flag records. Plus ROBO went on to play in the Misfits (actual misfits with Danzig) while Chuck Biscuits went on to play in Danzig.
after this they're both dead to me since i think Robo went on to play in the fake Misfits and Chuck went on to play in later day Social Distortion.

bleah, now that i think about that i'm gonna change my answer and say BRIAN MIGDOL is the most crucial. he played on Nervous Breakdown and as far as i know never embarassed himself after.

I was eating with three friends when one of 'em found a hair in his food. He wanted to send it back, but the rest of us told him to shut the fuck up and quit being such a baby. He ended up just kinda picking at the food on the edge of his plate and sulking like a little pussy until we left.

HUEY LEWIS or EDDIE MONEY?

Eddie Money is totally more crucial than Huey Lewis -- i used to have this really cute lezzie boss and we got involved in some canned food drive at work and this was somehow connected to the Bammie Awards (now the California Music Awards or some-shit) -- anyways we wound up with all access passes and we decided to go to the show and see if we could score free booze backstage -- anyways EDDIE MONEY was on stage when we went back and he finished his number and ran off the stage all stoked and grabbed my boss and gave her a big kiss all end of WWII like. it was a totally crucial moment.
Bill Gram was never a crucial dude but the poor fucker died because he felt it necessary to fly a helicopter to a Huey Lewis concert -- that's gotta be the worst way to go (execpt for maybe flying home from said Huey Lewis concert)

OK, another Bay Area bit of not-so-crucial...I saw Steve Perry at the 7-11 in Sausalito in 1986. He had on a full leather motorcycle ensemble. I'd say he was buying a frozen burrito, but I'd be lying.

Lady Jane or the Baroness

If I may step on Crucial Dude's judgement, Baroness.

I think Lady J was secretly a dude.
Posted: May 1, 2007 3:20 pm | Edited by: CrucialDude

more crucial

vagina or ass?

hint: consider a case of fosters factored in

i guess in this instance crucialness is in the eye of the beholder -- but there aint enough fosters in oz to make me choose ass

Who's more crucial:
Lady Jane or the Baroness?

the Dutchess, dude

Taco pizza?
i dunno, dude -- tacos are crucial and pizza is totally crucial -- but i dont see a crucial need for taco pizza. your better off getting a good slice of something crucial like peperoni or sausage and also having a taco. how disgusting would a fish taco pizza be? that's the slippery slope this BS could lead to.

That song sucks, too
not so crucial comma splice, dude.

New DC HC demos collection?
i havent heard about this -- could be promising or it could beat a dead horse. i'm more on the lookout for Poison Idea's Ian McKaye record right now.

Tapioca or rice pudding?
neither are totally crucial to me - but i like that rice pudding you get at the end of a spicey Indian dinner so i'll say rice pudding is more crucia.

Which is more crucial?

Theme music from The Odd Couple?

or

Theme music from Sanford and Son.

both seem to get stuck in my head from time to time.

I love this question. I have my own answer, being a soundtrack nut and all, but it's not as crucial as the reply that crucialdude is sure to deliver.

me and my brother used to go BANANAS when the Sanford & Son theme came on... no question there.

dude, Odd Couple is indeed a catchy little ditty but the Sanford and Son theme is totally shake your ass and stick your dick in the mashed potatos crucial, dude.

You said it better than I ever could. Hell yeah. Love that song!

Bazooka Joe? Is that what you were gonna say?I have my own answer

More crucial incarcerated skater: Hosoi or Gator?

More crucial incarcerated skater: Hosoi or Gator?

both these dudes got some tragic flaws not related to their incarcerations - Gator as a proto-boyband primadonna fashion fag and Hosoi is now skating for the lord -- but all in all i'm going with Hosoi as the more crucial dude.
i never liked the hammerhead deck but damn i love those new rising sun Hosoi vans.
anyways back around 86 i had this buddy who we used to tease because his girlfriend was like 14 and he was 18 and so when Hosoi came to Little Rock with JFA and he totally got with my friend's girl - like some serious singlesgoingsteady shit (except hosoi was prob 20 at the time) -- my buddy was bummed but the worst part for me was hosoi never got any big air in his demo. JFA ruled though.
Posted: May 2, 2007 5:00 pm

hosoi all the way. skated our ramp and ruled it. pics someday.

still wanna see the jason jesse movie dammit!
Posted: May 2, 2007 6:47 pm

Hosoi is OUT! and you gotta see the 'Rising Son' documentary if you haven't already. totally CROOSH. JJesse film is still in the works but should be a classic when it's done, and fulla travel boners. He still is on the blacklist for any air travel though, due to his terrorism scare a year ago. And I still play that first JFA record, Valley Of The Yakes all the time.

Whoppers or Milk Duds...which is more crucial??????????????
Posted: May 2, 2007 9:00 pm | Edited by: bazooka joe

I'm not CruciaDude, but I would like to comment that Whoppers are more crucial than milkduds. You might as well be eating Rolos when you pop a 'Dud, but Whoppers are the only candy available year round that taste like a crunchy choco-malt. Plus when you buy a large package they come in a milk carton (coolsville), you can make actual malteds out of them (check the recipe on the milk carton) and they share the name of a menu item from the world's greatest restaurant... BURGER KING!

Plus whenever I get them Christine never wants any, and I'm all about not sharing my Whoppers.

BURGER KING!

CrucialDude, Which is more crucial, BK or A&W?

Whoppers or Milk Duds...which is more crucial??????????????

bazooka joe made the right call on this one -- Whoppers are more crucial than Milk Duds. The milk carton thing is rad and sometimes you get the weird chewey ones - for some reason i fucking love those ones. a note of caution though: beware the whopper breath.
Posted: May 2, 2007 9:17 pm

CrucialDude, which is more crucial: "Which is more crucial" or "What's your take on...?"
Posted: May 2, 2007 9:21 pm

CrucialDude, Which is more crucial, BK or A&W?

the deal with A&W is they seem to totally vary from location to location. it's like the root beer & ice cream on the only consistent factor from joint to joint. the A&W in my home town in arkansas had fucking awesome BBQ -- you wont find that at other A&Ws. so anyways, that particular A&W is more crucial than any Burger King. But i've been to other A&W's that totally sucked. BK is pretty much the same anywhere -- i like to get a whopper like once or twice a year - but based on the rootbeer floats alone i'm gonna say A&W is more crucial than Burger King.
Posted: May 2, 2007 9:24 pm

I say you're full of shit cuz I'd rather have Miss Linda in my life than any rootbeer float that I didn't assemble in my own kitchen, and I know you would too.

Hell Yeah!!! I concur!!! I just bought a carton on my lunch and they hit the spot along with my coke.

sometimes you get the weird chewey ones - for some reason i fucking love those ones

Always a surprise when you expect the crunch, but still great!!!

I just wanna clarify that choco-malt flavored egg-shaped candies are a popular addition to Easter baskets.

At Easter time.

Thank you for that clarification. Whoppers really are in a class of their own. Bazooka Joe made a good point that if you were going to "pop a dud", you might as well just get some Rolos. There are a lot of choco-caramel combos out there, but the Whopper really stands alone.

I like candy

too much....

nose candy is crucial!

pickles or peppers?

BOFFUM!!!
Posted: May 2, 2007 11:42 pm

pickles or peppers?

pickled peppers!

shit, i think i may be stumped on this one. i mean there's so many kinds of pickles and so many kinds of peppers my mind is just realing with crucial comparisons. i do know that sweet peppers are totally more crucial than sweet pickles. but after that - shit gets tricky.
i'll have to do some research and get back on this one

boffum is right!

More crucial: Neil Blender or Lance Mountain?

oh shit dude, i guess Lance is technically the better skater but i there's something about Neil Blender that just makes him the more crucial dude.

shit i wish i had some old stake videos now.
Posted: May 3, 2007 6:50 pm

good call! Blender & Lance (and Lucero) opened up the door that dorks could skate & that having fun and NOT being all crucial all the time was all right. Lance still does it!

But something about the lurch-like moves of Neil Blender is much more crucial. Saw him frontside acid drop the square pool at Upland back in the day like it was no big thing... blew my brain.
Posted: May 3, 2007 7:02 pm

Lucero the skater or Lucero the band?
Mountain the skater or Mountain the band?
Blender the skater or Blender the crappy music magazine for men?
Chris Miller the skater or Miller the Genuine Draft?
Natas the skater or Natas the satanic rapper?

Lucerto the dude is more crucial than Lucero the band
Mountain the band is more crucial than Mountain the dude
Blender the dude is more crucial than Blender the crap-rag
Miller the dude is more crucial than Miller Genuine Draft but Miller High Life is more crucial than Miller the dude.
i'm gonna say Natas the skate dude is more crucial but i gotta admit i never heard Natas the satanic rapper.

Mountain the band

Which is more crucial:

Mississippi Queen by Mountain
or
Hair of the Dog by Nazareth

I ate a Whopper Jr. about 3 months ago because I was confused ,and it was Sunday(liquor stores aint open). I felt ashamed of myself, But at least I didn't buy no goddamn rootbeer float, that's sickening to me. I'm actually offended by that! You"re a SICK, SICK, PERSON!

Which is more crucial:

Mississippi Queen by Mountain
or
Hair of the Dog by Nazareth

overall Mountain is a much more crucial band than Nazareth - but you can't fucking deny Hair of the Dog - that shit just rocks

More crucial form of breakfast sausage: patties or links?
it's all good - but i guess the best breakfast sausage i ever had was a link so i'm gonna say links are more crucial than patties -- but this isnt a hard rule since all links are not more crucial than all patties.
Posted: May 4, 2007 2:36 pm

evans is a douche.

whoa - i aint never ate at a bob evans restraunt but he looks alright to me

I think you're thinking of Dennys.

Hey Crucialdude:
Denny's or Perkins?
Posted: May 5, 2007 4:59 am

lee marvin or charles bronson?
Posted: May 5, 2007 5:01 am

big one in red states. think carefully.

FORD or CHEVY?

and not gerald v. chase.
Posted: May 5, 2007 5:02 am

lee marvin or charles bronson?

Ernest Borgnine, age 90, would own both those clowns.
Posted: May 5, 2007 5:06 am

lee marvin or charles bronson?

STEVE MCQUEEN
Posted: May 5, 2007 5:40 am

borgnine was tuff!

man those FORCE 10 movies were like the toughest of the tough! great stuff.
Posted: May 5, 2007 5:47 am

borgnine was tuff!

True... Although I sometimes get him mixed up with Edward G Robinson.
Posted: May 5, 2007 6:36 am

EG ROBINSON WAS TUFF! yeah!
Posted: May 5, 2007 7:19 am

is bob evans the restaurant chain that openly is contemptuos of blacks and then fucking laughs about it on tape at board meetings??

I think you're thinking of Dennys.

Pretty sure it's Cracker Barrell.

Mississippi Queen by Mountain

this brings up a good point...

the cowbell in "mississippi queen", or the cowbell in "don't fear the reaper"
Posted: May 6, 2007 3:15 am

the cowbell in "mississippi queen", or the cowbell in "don't fear the reaper"

'Funk #49' trumps 'em both, pard
Posted: May 6, 2007 3:23 am

Denny's or Perkins?

dude - remember when denny's had the courage of their convictions to be called Little Black Sambo's ?

anyways,
back in my rediculous punk rocker days i took my girl to dennys on her birthday (they advertised free meals on bithdays back then) -- anyways they wouldnt even serve us - those fucking bastards
anyways, i never ate at Perkins but its gotta be more crucial than fucking dennys
(although i did sit next to the Dickies at the dennys in LA - that was kinda cool)
Posted: May 6, 2007 3:31 am

Pard, Perkin's had the 'Wishing Well' - lots of great, free toys! They served Pigs In A Blanket too.
Posted: May 6, 2007 3:39 am

lee marvin or charles bronson?

lee marvin is a real man's real man and totally more crucial than charles bronson.

FORD or CHEVY?
i'm a mopar man myself - well, i pose hard as a mopar man -- i dont have a crucial ride right now but my fantasy car is a 69 Superbee and all the close runner-ups are mopar except for a Chevy Malibu and a Ford Ranchero --
anyways - i guess this red state debats is about trucks more than cars and i'd say the F-150 (or whatever 50 it is these days) is more crucial than some flashy chevy truck -- so Ford is more crucial. (although where i come from they all say Found On Road Dead and would lynch me for this answer -- but those fuckers all got gay-ass lowrider trucks that couldnt haul their own sister's fat asses off the farm)
Posted: May 6, 2007 3:42 am

the cowbell in "mississippi queen", or the cowbell in "don't fear the reaper"

mississippi queen totally has the more crucial cowbell action - i thank king louie for expanding my appreciation of the mighty cowbell -- it's all good except when it's leading into that damn loverboy song
Posted: May 6, 2007 3:43 am

ots of great, free toys!

I don't know about great...
Posted: May 6, 2007 6:46 pm | Edited by: SAMBEAUX

Chili's or Chi Chi's?

I think the cowbell is more crucial to the success of Mississippi Queen as a song however Don't Fear the Reaper is a much more crucial song. But hey, my name's not CrucialDude...
Posted: May 6, 2007 6:47 pm | Edited by: SAMBEAUX

F-150 (or whatever 50 it is these days)

F-350s are heavy doodie, but you see a lot of real rednexxx driving jap trucks like the Tundra and the Titan and they can suck down just as much gas as any of the old redstate standbys.
Posted: May 6, 2007 10:52 pm

i just saw a bad ass F-150 with a "real trucks don't wear bowties" sticker -- makes me think i made the right call
Posted: May 6, 2007 10:59 pm

Chili's or Chi Chi's?

dude, chi chi's gave Hep to like 700 people -- i think it woulda won out as more crucial than Chilis but that sorta disqualifies them -- when i get hep i want it to be from some drunken unfortunate anchor tattoo in TJ - not some strip mall mexican restraunt
Posted: May 7, 2007 1:30 am

The black man made me hep. Blackies are crucial!
Posted: May 7, 2007 4:47 pm

So, Edward G Robinson or Ernest Borgnine?
Posted: May 7, 2007 4:49 pm

Which is more crucial

John Wayne OR Clint Eastwood?
