Posted: Mar 21, 2007 7:04 pm

but i'm sure they'd try and point out that you're one the first time you make any politically incorrect comment at all. pc hipsters are worse than anthropology majors.

Matt Muscle was speaking from this very experience! Ahhhhh...funny story.

I, for one, would love to hear it.

Posted: Mar 21, 2007 8:52 pm

I, for one, would love to hear it.

I didn't exactly see/hear it; I am sure Matt could spin a funny yarn about the whole experience!

Actually, I prefer San Francisco.

Portland is wonderful. I spent the last week floating around the Caribbean Ocean & I still couldn't wait to get back home. Ya'll are just a buncha haters. Get a life & go live somewhere else. Your jackassery is tiresome.

Again, what I keep saying. WTF? What a buncha whiny, pussy BABIES!!

I lived in PDX for almost a decade and it rocked. Its only downfall, for me, was the lack of sunshine. People just tend to become jaded about how good they have it. It is what you make it, no matter where you live.
I mean, c'mon, you're an hour from the ocean and the mountains. There's lots of young money, hot tail, great music, and a majority of the population who can read and comprehend above the 8th grade level.

I grew up in the lovely Willamette Valley, and I have only one thing to say--shut up about the weather, or move the fuck somewhere else. Lately, I've been hearing about how 'wierd' the weather has been...actually, it's finally getting back to normal after being really wierd for the last few years. Yeah, it rains like the dickens for ten minutes, then the sun comes out. It's fucking springtime! I love the rain, and if I lived in Nevada or someshit, I sure as hell wouldn't be bitching about how hot it is all the time. Duh! Everyone knows it's wet here...remember those bumper stickers from the 70's that said 'people in Portland don't tan, they rust!' with a cartoon guy 'sunbathing' in the rain? Get a clue, already. Ok, rant over.

yeah i was at this party and i told
these punks that our crackheads in nola
were infinitely superior to the crackheads
in portland....then the room got really silent...
so to break the ice i sais hey does anyone here
like skrewdriver? so then im fighting like
five guys and i got thrown out of the party and
chased down the street on my bicycle for merely pointing
out the fact that skrewdriver writes good music.
i was so drunk i woke up in my exgirlfriends parents
driveway at 9 am in the hot sun spooning my bicycle.
then these guys would run me out of every hardcore
show in the city...and thats the story of how i was kicked
out of an entire muscial genre in fifteen minutes...then after
the hurricane benefit i had organized they all made
friends with me again but only because of the hurricane...
no other reason...its really hard to not consistently put
your foot in your mouth when you hang out with people
like this.
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 9:56 pm

It's true, Matt. But I know lots of folks here who dig Skrewdriver (the early stuff, natch). I guess you were hanging with the sensitives. I put my foot in my mouth a lot, but I guess my scintillating goofiness (and the fact that I'm a girl) saves my ass. And I don't really hang out in the hardcore scene. I guess it's easy to laugh it off when you don't really have much fear of gettin your asshole kicked off.
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 9:59 pm

spooning my bicycle.

That's the funniest thing I've read all day.
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 10:09 pm

you should've stayed and gotten that Flipper tribute band going and they all would've hated you again.
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 10:29 pm

I once played Hail the New Dawn at EJ's during a Elliot Smith show. No fists, just disappointed tears.
Posted: Mar 23, 2007 2:20 am

Matt's absolutely right, and funny! I'll walk back to NOLA to do a Flipper cover band w/ya!

But almost even more importantly, HOT STIX & LAUREL SULFITE ARE BACK IN THE GONER POSTIN' GAME!!!!
Posted: Mar 23, 2007 7:27 am

I propose an age limit on the goner board. Old people suck, portland rules. grown ups go home
Posted: Mar 23, 2007 8:20 am

Move to Seattle.

Hate it here instead.
Posted: Mar 23, 2007 9:34 am

dont get me wrong...
it was kinda fun earning such
a bad reputation overnight...and
the few people who i stil keep in touch
with from there are all awesome...i was even
thinking of popping in for a week or so later
this summer...get my swim on in the river...
joe you gona be up there all summer
or are you gonna bail before then?
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 10:44 pm

I'll be here Matt. But after you swim in the Wilamette you might not be. Actually, knowing your luck you'd probably just mutate.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 10:45 pm

People get serious rashes from swimming in that dirty, dirty river.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 10:46 pm

"Move to Seattle. Hate it here instead."

Been there, done that. PDX definitely has it over Jet City for the Rocks n' Rolls.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 10:50 pm

Seattle is unrecognizable anymore. And I grew up around there. Its weird.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 11:01 pm

portland challenge! swim across the willamette this summer! i've done it twice.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 11:04 pm

Gross! Did you get sick? Some friends of mine jumped off the Hawthorne bridge last summer and got rashes and super sick. Even rashes in their eyes, and ears...
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 11:19 pm

I swam in the 'Lamette before I knew better. I was probably high on drugs, so that kept me safe.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 11:20 pm

high on drugs, so that kept me safe.

Thats usually what saves me.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 11:27 pm

Now that I'm off the drugs, I just get by on my good looks and charm. Unfortunatly, hep and weird rashes are unfazed by good looks and charm, so now I stay outta the river.
Posted: Mar 25, 2007 1:23 am

Thanks a lot, you guys brought me to the dark side.
Posted: Mar 25, 2007 6:24 am

got a job offer tonight... think it's worth taking...

in ALASKA!

i can't fucking wait.
Posted: Mar 25, 2007 9:56 pm

I wouldn't live in Alaska. Too cold. And the Penguins would eat me.

I wouldn't consider a leave if my Mom wasn't 80 years old... certain things trump The Rock sometimes.
Posted: Mar 25, 2007 10:43 pm

ahhh.. shitty pay. plus the old lady would never buy it. guess I'm stuck here.
Posted: Mar 26, 2007 11:50 pm

ah joe, yes. work is making me work too hard as of late.
by the way, what was the vinyl pressing co. you recommended? we bore some new songuns over the weekend.
mwah...
oh ya, portland something or other. i like it here. the rest of ya'll can leave and bitch about the next place you inhabit.

"Seattle is unrecognizable anymore. And I grew up around there. Its weird."

Tacoma is unrecognizable anymore, too. It's kind of nice. Move here and don't hate it. It's where you move when you actually want to be able to afford to live. The musics suck here, so you have to make your own.

I went to Stadium. I know Tacoma.... and you know me. I moved to Puyallup while still in HS, and now live in Portland. You know me.
